>>Erik: From a creative perspective, you are also faced with change now because the market
is changing. The economy is changingÉ
>>Patty: Have another glass of wine on that one! We talk about that. It is a real global
thing. The thing is, any kind of change percolates through everybody. It is immense. It is not
just me and the winery. It is about the glass producer, the people making the paper, the
people delivering the paper to the printer. Everyone is impacted by every single thing
and change. One of the things people fail to embrace is to embrace the change. It is
very critical to be self sustaining not only in terms of your business but also you mentally
and physically. You have to go with it. You cannot deny change. Change happens. It is
imminent. It is always there every single day. I donÕt think enough people realize
that.
>>Erik: Embrace the change. Understand there are ups and downs. Your lifestyle is not always
going to be the same. You`ll make more money, you`ll make less. You`ll live in different
places, you`ll work different jobs. Find a happy place, a happy theme, and surround yourself
with great people, friends, colleagues, partners and if you are in the wine business, look
at this time as an opportunity.
>>Patty: You just have to become more diversified in how you think. So many people are pigeon
holed in their thought process. How they are approaching, who they are in particular. Where
a lot of people who are incredibly creative and lovely don`t give themselves enough credit
for that. That is one of things I`ve done throughout my business career, is let people
embrace who they are and be able to work with that. You have to be able to see that all
around you to be able to make your life work. It`s because you give people that element
of creative space.
