I wanted to show you guys my Motobecane Fly 29 Titanium hardtail frame.
I'll give you some weights here. About 1640 or 1650 grams.
This is a medium and I believe this is the second generation.
I think they had a first generation that didn't have shaped tubes.
On the second generation the tubes are shaped a little bit more
and they are currently introducing the third generation that has a tapered head tube and
a curved seat tube I believe. And I wanted to put it on the Park table top
scale just to double check. 1643, 1645g.
This weight does include the derailleur hanger and the FSA Orbit XL II headset.
FSA lists that as being about 103 grams so this is roughly 1540-1550g for the frame.
I haven't ridden this frame yet but the build quality seems to be good.
The welds are pretty nice. Seems like a nice frame. I'm excited to get
on it. Here's the bike finished.
I've ridden it about three times so far and I'm really enjoying it.
I used mostly parts that I had laying around. The Tower Pro fork is new.
These wheels and tires are off of my Specialized. They're not especially light.
They're not tubeless. It's a 1x9 drivetrain that I had laying around
with with a 24 tooth from chainring. Carbon seatpost, saddle, carbon bar.
I'll put the full build specs in the about section.
Just wanted to show you what it looks like done.
Here's the bike on the scale. 25.66lb - 25.71lb somewhere in there.
11.68 kg, tough to tell because of the wind out here.
The bike has 203mm front rotor and 185mm on the back so I'm going to change those and
lighten it up. Change the pedals probably and it should be
getting it down to 25 pretty easily. Anyway, thanks for watching and let me know
if you've got any questions!
