After my 80 years, I didn't expect any prize I think it's been a long time
I don't know why I receive it since there are many people who deserve it much more than I.
The only thing I can say is the deep affection Nivaldo has for me which allows me to obtain this award.
I really appreciate this mention but it must not be for me, but for Argentinian mining,
activity which has to overcome " state barriers;"
barriers such as strict regulatory laws,
the environmental policy which is not environmental but anti-mining
which is a completely different matter.
For the hope we ever have responsible authorities capable of granting what mining activty needs
and do not grant
and as an idealistic person, I regret the Members of Congress of our provinces
do not do what they have to that is to defend the interests of the provinces they represent.
instead, they defend oppressive policies which do not favor the provinces but
take away from them.
I apologise, but considering my age, I think I can say what I have learnt throught the years
and I hope Argentina learns and becomes the country it was many years ago.
a country with a huge growing potential, not to be confused with an underdeveloped country, but a country with institutional obstacles that prevent it from growing.
I have already spoken too much I would like to propose a toast
for Argentina to become a mining country, condition it needs to recover the lost greatness it enjoyed years ago
that is all, thank you.
Agustín says he does not deserve this honor, but
all those who have dedicated to the mining activity for more than 20, 30 or 40 years
know he really deserves it.
Agustín, you are a representative of an entire generation and a whole team of mining lawyers
who also deserve their recognitions, Agustín, thank you for everything.
