\f0\fs24 \cf0 Worldliness. What is worldliness? Worldliness is pushing after things of this
world such as success, goals, and pleasures, and your desires from inside your heart, instead
of pursuing God and his kingdom. That's what worldliness is. It means you don't deny yourself
of your desires, nor pick up your cross and follow Jesus. Matthew 6:33 says that: Seek
you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you.
Now the definition of worldliness in the dictionary is thus: related to or devoting to this world
and its pursuits, rather than religion or spiritual affairs. Synonyms are: cosmopolitan,
smart, sophisticated, worldly-wise. We read in one James 2:7: religion that is pure and
undefiled before God the father is to help the orphans and widows in their distress and
keep oneself unstained from the world. Now we read in one Peter 4:3: for the time past
of our life may sacrifice asked to have wrought the will of the Gentile. When we walked in
lasciviousness (which is expressing *** or exciting *** desires) *** of the flesh,
(pride of life, money success positions) excess wine and revelling, banquets and abominable
idolatries. Wherein they think it's strange that you do not run after these things and
so they speak evil of you. We read in Isaiah 5:11: woe to them that rise up early in the
morning so that they may have a drink and have a good time until night listening to
the tambourine the pipe and the organ, and they regard not the works of the Lord, nor
consider the operation of his hands. Worldliness is a mindset of this world. Their whole minds
are consumed with this world. We read in one John 2:15: Do not love the world nor the things
in the world. For if anybody loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. For
all that is in the world, the desires of the flesh, desires on the eyes, and the pride
of possessions, is not from the father but from this world and the world is passing away
along with all it's desires. But whoever does the will of the father in heaven, lives for
ever. James 4: you adulterous people, do you not know that friendship with this world makes
God's enemy? Therefore anybody who wishes to be friends of the world makes himself an
enemy to God. Matthew 16:26: For what does it profit a man if he gains this whole world
but he loses his own soul? Mark 7:22: that which proceeds out of a man that is what defiles
a man. For within the heart there are many evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murders,
adulterous, deeds of covetousness and wickedness, sensualities and deceit, pride, slander, evil
and foolishness. All these evils things proceed from within and they defile a man. Two Corinthians
4:18: and we look not to the things that are seen but the things that are unseen. For the
things that are seen are transient. This whole world looks at things you can see and they
live for the things of this earth: success, power money, possessions, houses, you name
it. This is what the world strives after yet they do not regard God. Going back to our
definition of worldliness: devotion to the world and its pursuits rather than to religion
or spiritual affairs. So in other words: worldliness is devotion to this world rather than putting
God first in your life. Where is your mind? Do you have a worldly mind? Is your focus
on your own pursuits? If it is, you are worldly and you are an enemy of God. There are a few
of you in Sardis (revelation three verse four) who have not soiled your garments, and you'll
walk with me in white because you are worthy. People who go to the world and sin and follow
it soil their roads in evil. They are not fit for Jesus. You must repent. Let's read
on. 1 Corinthians 6:9: Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom?
Not fornicators, (sex outside of marriage) nor idolaters, (putting things first in your
life above God) nor adulterers (sleeping around on your partner) nor homosexuals, (homosexuals)
nor thieves, nor coverts, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists, will not inherit
the kingdom of God. And we read on further in Psalms 101 verse three: That I will put
no evil thing before my eyes. TV, worldliness. The mind focus on the world, what the world
does, what the world thinks, what the world wants to do, they chase after. It's all in
the TV. Worldly people are going to spend their time watching the TV. But we who are
separate we don't put evil things before our eyes. We put God first in everything and we
no longer strive for our own pursuits. We seek the will of the father over everything.
He will provide for us. We pursue serving Jesus Christ which is the will of the father.
We deny ourselves of our sins, lusts and desires inside. Because all that's inside is worldly.
We do not strive after our goals and dreams and desires of our heart. Because there's
nothing good in our heart. We crucify them and put them out. We don't joining people
in their sin in the world and go along with the crowd because we have no fellowship with
darkness and we are to be salt in this world and not joining our friends in their sin loving
worldly paths full of coarse jokes, dirty language, and unclean thinking. Worldliness,
put it out! Turn away from all worldliness! Focused purely to serve Jesus Christ! Get
to know him! Seek to serve him, and you will not fulfill the ways of this worldly generation.
