The unicycle, comes from the high bi. It was used to transport mammoth tainted meat.
Then the romans used it to conquer new territories.
During the 17th century, Louis XIV himself was going to the bakery with this awesome invention.
You got it, with a unicycle you can do a lot of things. You can go forwards, you can go
backwards, you can jump, you can do tricks and since several years, the unicycle is developing
as a sport. It is even possible to play basketball with a unicycle.
For example since 2 years a special league exists in France.
In short, we use our unicycles every day.
Sometimes I like doing a nap with my unicycle.
But what we like is unicycles trek.
Oh Oh not this kind of trek We are not putting them on our back we ride.
That's why we put a gear unicycle hub. You can easily higher the gear using the heel.
Then we can ride everywhere.
In the city, we can stop at a red light, take a crosswalk.
Sometimes we slalom between people without any danger.
We go in forest, we ride on small paths and we also slalom between the trees.
What's very nice is that sometimes we can overtake a bike
We are 2, I'm gael, I'm jo, that's why we named the project gajociclo.
We come from a town called Chauvé in the center of the « retz country ».
We know each other since the primary school and we ride together since 10 years.
Our project is a one year travel in south america on unicyles.
We planned an 18000 kms itinerary and we want to cross 8 countries Our goal is to ride 5000 km with the unicycles.
For the rest of the road, we will use buses, trains , hitchhiking and boats.
We are also putting in place partnerships with backside schools in the countries
we will pass by to establish juggling workshops.
It will include learning, juggle games and home made balls conception.
At the same time, we want to share this road trip with the schools of our childhood town.
The kids will be able to follow us during the whole year through our web site, visioconferences and pictures we will publish on the web.
Come on Gaël
Every curious people will be able to follow us during the trip on our web site www.gajociclo.com
So if we need your support, there is a reason, We really need the vital material for this
kind of trip. That means not cumbersome, practical, lightweight and adapted material.
Then it will be easier to ride on all the roads even difficult ones.
Your help will serve to buy a portion of the ultra light bivouac material and to pay a part of the luggage rack system
We created a 3D modelisation of this luggage rack system after having taken the measurements
and drew it on a special table. We are now engineering the panniers. We want
hermetic tissues, resistant with a good backbone.
Jo we are not yet in South America !
Curious people, travelers, lazy guys and all the people interested with this project, if
you wanna support us, we got some things in return like for example this amazing
plok game handmade. This is a team board game played with a 54 cards game. And If you are
very generous, we bring you back a lama from peru.
If you want more precisions about ourselves or about our project, you can find us on our
web site, www.gajociclo.com, on our facebook page, gajociclo, l'amérique du sud à mono, or on our ulule page.
