Factor IX, also known as Coagulation factor IX recombinant, is a prescription antihemophilic
agent used to prevent and control bleeding in people with hemophilia B, which is an inherited
bleeding disorder. This medication is also used in adults with hemophilia B before and
after surgery. This medication is available in an injectable form to be given directly
into a vein (IV) by a healthcare professional. Common side effects of Factor IX include distorted
