Hey guys. This is Nacoya from MySimWorlds.com.
Today I'm going to show you how to make one of these icons using only Paint and your keyboard.
So this is really easy. All you have to do is hit Print Screen aka Prnt Scrnt button
Pick the image you want and press Print Screen on your keyboard. Then open up Paint.
And paste the file in there. Press Paste or on your keyboard ctrl + v
Here you want to crop it or resize. Any editing you need to do.
Today I'm just gonna crop it quick and resize it. You need to resize to 256x256
You can also uncheck keep ratio. Then just do 256x256
It can make it askew so try to crop it square
Then just save the file as a PNG
Put the icon where ever you want. Where you can find it later.
Switch back to Create-A-World.
Right click to add description and find your image
There you go. You got a 24 bit icon just like you needed. No extra software required.
You can also do this in the World Editor.
That will help you get an image that is a little prettier.
Then the CAW file which can be graphically ugly.
I'm going to speed through this. You don't need to see my loading screens.
I'm just opening up the world editor.
Once you get the world creator up its the same thing.
Zoom out and try to find a nice angle that looks pleasent
The just hit Pint Screen aka Prnt Scrn.
On your keyboard it is normally on the right hand side.
Then alt + tab out of the world. open up Paint.
Then Paste or ctrl + v
Get a pretty image and crop it down to as square as possible
you wanna crop it up as square as possible
That way when you resize its pretty close
Just try to make it pretty
Remove keep aspect ratio then resize to 256x256
Then save it as PNG
After its saved close Paint. The only difference here is you need to close out World Editor before adding icon.
just go back to the Sims quit exit. Save if you made any changes.
Once it loads back in the world creator
Right click world and do add description
Add your image
Hit okay and save your world
That's it! That is how you create a 24 bit icon in Paint.
thanks
