Good Evening ladies and gentlemen. The Silicon Valley based team of Bio Infinite has proposed
a medical device of a transdermal smart patch. Fido from Bone-lab has the report.
Thank you Chester, the team members of Bio Infinite have come up with the idea of a transdermal
smart patch. This patch or polymeric micro device would allow for medication to be administered
to patients by being absorbed in the skin. The concept of "smart" would allow the patch
to administer itself when it is most needed. The Bio Infinite team conducted interviews
and surveys to provide a greater understanding of what the market would value most. It was
concluded to niche the smart patch towards one ailment: Arthritis, specifically Rheumatoid
Arthritis (RA). 50 million people in the U.S. have some form
of arthritis, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). and
the 1.5 million of those people have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Those affected by Rheumatoid Arthritis
make up 3% of the total Arthritis market, making this niche ailment a total of $2.42
Billion. By 2030, the CDC estimates 67 million people will have some form of Arthritis, making
it nearly 25% of the entire U.S. population. Bio Infinite will continue their research
and study for a smart patch on Rheumatoid Arthritis. Back to you Chester.
Thank you Fido. There you have it folks. May you have a wonderful evening. Take care and
goodnight.
