In the center of the world, the people of Israel reborn
At the heart of Israel in Jerusalem is a neighborhood "A wall" between the Temple of the Mount and the Tomb of Rachel:
"Homat Shmuel"
After many years of development and expansion "Homat Shmuel" neighborhood is preparing to build its first Great Sephardic Synagogue
Noam Siah community center established there 10 years ago, decided to take this important task under its responsibility.
We are here 10 minutes from the Kotel
at the top of "Homat Shmuel" neighborhood
which is actually a neighborhood playing the role of a Protective Wall between Beit Lehem and the southern Jerusalem neighborhood called Ramat Rahel
Noam Siah community was founded by the first inhabitants of Har Homa ("Homat Shmuel"), 10 years ago.
What characterizes actually Noam Siah is the Sephardic rite traditionalist religious Zionist
and also the spiritual atmosphere through coaching and instructions of Rabbis
like Rav Ariel Edri who is now a Dayan (judge Rabbinic) and also the Rav Avraam Shabbat who is the Rabbi of the community
We built here immediately a Talmud Torah, a Beit Midrash,
we began to give a spiritual soul to the neighborhood that made people attracted by "Homat Shmuel" quickly
This is really a community where people take an active part, not just a place where you go to pray and go home
but a place where you really feel part of the family and feel close to each other.
Most of the community members are people who generally work in high technologies and marketing
we have all children who are soldier into elite units etc.
Noam Siah community is composed of people essentially idealistic
It includes families Olim Hadashim, Israelis,
and of course Jews who came from around the world, People who came from Canada, Morocco and of course France
Like the French guys, the Israelis are fully invested
the French are more interested by this family atmosphere because most of them left their families in France
so they have a real need to meet, help each other,
and Israeli too, so we got a pretty solid and pretty mixed community with people of all kinds
Noam Siah started in a house, in a street of the neighborhood
, and we had to migrate from location to location
We started in a house, then in a classroom of a schoool, in the hall of the school
and today we got a part of a shopping center parking
With the investments of the community member we was able to buy seats
but unfortunately we are still very limited and the space is relatively small to contain the growing community and would like to build.
Recently we submitted a request to the Mayor of Jerusalem
and we got one of the largest ground of "Homat Shmuel" dedicated for a synagogue building
which can contain a building of 5 floors
Two floors dedicated to the synagogue and the Ezrat nashim
one floor dedicated to the study of the Torah with offices, classrooms, rooms for organizing youth activities, for women, theme evenings
and floor room for Kiddush and Seoudot
We therefore, call all our brothers who can help, to join us and contribute to this project,
which is unique of its kind and participate to the development of Eretz israel,
and ensure that the Torah can take back an honorific place at "Homat Shmuel" through Noam Siah.
