My career goal is to work with young children who have communication difficulties.
I am currently a student intern at the University of Nebraska Medical Center
working with the speech-language pathologist on the in-patient floors.
As an undergrad, I had an honors undergraduate clinical placement through the
Barkley Center which is where the Speech-Pathology program is and I got to
work alongside graduate students and help provide services to people with communication
disorders. As part of a big research university, UNL has given me the opportunity
to participate in multiple different research studies.
I've had a lot of support from professors who have really been interested in my
success and growth as a student and as a professional.
I am currently a regional delegate for the National Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
It is extremely important to be active and involved in organizations because you get to
meet and interact with people who are passionate about the same things that you are
and learn on a whole different level.
I love being a Husker and I think the thing that I will miss the most is just being
involved in a community of people who care about each other and who all have the
same intentions and want to learn together and grow together.
I can't imagine where I would be without UNL.
