Hi, I'm Ann Myrick, and today, we're going to talk about outfitting your guest bathroom.
First thing you want to do is be sure that it really is clean. You don't want to put
anybody in a bathroom, have them staying with you, and the bathroom isn't clean. So you
really want to get down...this is one of those hands and knees cleaning where you just really
clean it and make it look very clean and very sparkly. Another thing that you want to think
about is what if their suitcase got lost and they didn't have anything. You want to have
that mindset of how can I outfit the guest bathroom where they will have everything they
need. And so soaps, clean towels, nice towels, shampoo -- just everything that is needed.
Be sure that it is in your guest bathroom. What I love to do is I love to present just
a little vignette to welcome my guest. Sometimes I will put this in the guest room, sometimes
I will put it in the guest bathroom. But in this bathroom, we have a candle, and that's
always nice. So it...there'll be a fresh smell and if there's odors coming out of the bathroom,
the candle will take care of that. We have a little vase of flowers. We have shampoo,
bath salts, a little scrubber -- just making them smell...I mean, making them feel very
good. A lot of times, I like to put little mints. I mean, whatever you have. If you have
an...some razors, toothpaste, toothbrush. Just...I like doing, like, a little box or
a little tray that they can go to and have everything there. So be sure they have everything
they need. Have a sufficient amount of toilet paper, tissue. You want to be sure that they
have a place to lay their clothes. If your bathroom doesn't have hooks, you might want
to put hooks on the back so you can hang a robe or hang towels. Be sure your light bulbs
-- all your light bulbs -- are in, you have good light, the bathroom is clean, and just
really think about is there everything in this room where a person will feel at home
and feel like they have everything they need. This is Ann Myrick, and that's how to outfit
a guest bathroom.
