Hi this is Megan with Beadaholique.com and
today I'm going to show you how to make the holly berry earrings from the holly
berry earring kit
these are earrings and they are a
very pretty nice
subtle way to show your Christmas spirit. They're made with Swarovski Elements
Baroque
pendants and Swarovski Elements
round crystal beads. What you're gonna get
in your kit is two of the Baroque Pendant
6 of the small round beads
two earring hooks, two large jump rings
two small jump rings and 6
24 gauge head pins and if your head pins are a little
bent out of shape just go ahead and use your fingers to straighten them
they are a thinner gauge so they'll straighten out pretty easily. You're also going to need
a pair of chain nose pliers, a pair of round nose pliers
and a pair of cutters. So to start
we're going to make the little dangles that sit at the front
take one of your head pins and place a red bead
onto the head pin. Now we're going to make a wrapped wire loop
so grab the wire
just above the bead with the tip of the chain nose pliers
and bend the wire above
the pliers at almost a 90 degree angle. Then take a pair round nose pliers
and grab onto the
wire just about the bend, bend the wire
around the pliers and then rotate the pliers
so you could complete the wire pendant. Now we're just going to wrap
the tail of the wire around the little piece
of the wire that's between the loop of the bead
So I'm going to just start with my fingers. This is a thinner gauge wire so
it bends pretty easily
just nice neat little wraps
you can use your nose pliers to finish that up
once you meet the top of the bead
use the cutters to trim the excess wire
and then use your chain nose pliers to tuck
the tail in so that it's not sharp
we're going to do this
two more times for the first earring. You can do
all six at once if you like or you can do them
earring by earring. I'm just gonna show you for the first earring
place a bead on the head pin
grab the head pin, bend
use the round nose pliers to grab right above that bend, wrap the wire
around and then
wrap down to the bend
trim the access
and
Press that tail in
here
the loop gets kind of bent. You just use the pliers to straighten it out
I'm going to do one more
okay
so you have three little dangles for each earring
now are going to take one of the larger jump rings
open the jump ring
you wanna place the little split
and the jump ring up and use a pair of pliers
to grasp either side of that opening and then you want to
open the jump ring by moving your hand side to side to move the two sides away
from each other and you always wanna move them
away from each other this way and don't open the jump ring this way
because it could lose its shape. So
open that up wide enough to fit your crystal pendant on there
and then you're going to place the dangles
you want the front to be the side where you don't see the end of your wire
so go ahead and hang all three
on the front
just like that
and then close that jump ring back up by grasping the two sides
and moving the sides back to center. Make sure it's
all the way closed. You want that to be as
seamless looking as possible
take one of your earring hooks and one of your smaller jump rings
open the smaller jump ring
just as you did the larger one
now onto this jump ring you're going to hang your large jump ring
with your earring dangle and then you're going to hang your earring hook
and you want to hang your earring hook with the rounded edge
towards the front and
close the jump ring. Just make sure that the earring hook
is closed nicely also
you've just made your first holly berry earring. You're just going to repeat that process
with your other materials to make your second earring.
