Welcome back with Malaysian Riders, this time around; we will be testing the Aprilia Shiver 750
Hi welcome back to Malaysian Riders and I'm Rashidi
alright, this time we will be testing the Aprilia Shiver 750
We'll see how it handles, the performance, the value for money and anything else related
Aprilia Shiver is a motorcycle in a Naked category powered by an engine with 749.9cc displacement
With 95HP and 85Nm Torque, it really gives more than enough power for the 189kg bike for on the road use
Therefore, what can we say about the RM58,000 OTR bike that we have here
For that, our test rider decided to go for a meet up with his friends to further discuss about Aprilia Shiver 750
it has 3 modes.. rain mode, touring and sports mode..
So when it's raining.. it is not encouraged to use the Sports mode..
Because with Sports mode, you will have full power at your disposal.. and the power is a little outrageous for OTR use
yeah because it's a V-Twin.. So it has a lot of torques
So it's quite dangerous..
For something like this (wet condition), better that you use the rain mode
especially for the beginners who seldom ride a powerful bike like this
but for the more experienced rider or even me I won't be using the rain mode
Cos the rain mode doesn't have enough power and to go through the traffic.. we need some of the immediate power
So that is why I'll be using Touring mode even in the rain
Touring mode is just a little bit softer than Sports Mode.. in term of power delivery
So for example, if we make a graph.. Sports mode (first hand gesture).. Touring (2nd hand gesture).. followed by rain mode
When we ride on a normal day.. dry condition.. so the rain mode is just too weak
The first time I took the bike from Aprilia center
I used the Rain mode just to get to know how the bike performs.. and straight away I just felt it's too weak..
Friend's question: You can't go fast on the bike using the rain mode? Answer: Yes you can
But like I said, the power delivery will be slower(smoother).. so you can go fast but it'll be slower to reach the pace
and from the Rev Counter, we can see the differences.. we don't even have to go to a dyno to see one
rain mode is just very soft.. (shooosh.. hand gesture)
and for Touring mode is similar like Sports mode.. only that it is a little bit smoother.. just a little
and Sports mode is just crazy.. with no compromise.. if you make a mistake.. it will bite..
but it's okay for someone like a racer.. for example Zulfahmi Khairuddin (MOTO 3 Rider).. They have the skills to handle it
cos we are just an everyday rider.. and most of the time.. big bikes users.. coming from people with money
Sometimes.. people with money can afford to buy one.. and it doesn't mean that they can ride one properly..
but there is nothing wrong with riding one cos at the end of the day.. it is their own bike.. but they have to be cautious..
Therefore, our test ride session shows that the Aprilia Shiver has a high value as a FUN BIKE
and it is a very good bike with the price offered (RM58,000)
But one must be reminded not to underestimate this machine's power.. especially to those new riders out there..
Take some baby steps to learn and understand how the bike's perform or else.. it will bring some great danger to it's rider
with that.. see you again next time with MALAYSIAN RIDERS
