So you're looking how to verify your YouTube channel? Well this is extremely important.
Especially if you want to upload videos longer than 15 minutes and use services like YouTube
Live, hangout on air, and also the ability to appeal content ID disputes, and customize
your thumbnail, of course. Now in this video I'm going to show you step by step how to
verify your YouTube channel. Let's take a look!
Now to get your YouTube channel verified the first thing we need to do is go to the video
manager. And to do this you come up to the arrow here, and mouse down to Video Manager.
And you're going to see all these menu items on the left-hand side. What we'll want to
do is select channel settings, this tells you if you're in good standing and all the
features that are enabled. So if you want to enable these features you first need to
verify your account because YouTube does not want to see that you're a bot, that you're
an actual person. So let's go ahead and click verify. And basically it's going to give you
an option whether to call you of to text you, I prefer texts. So I'm going to go ahead and
do that, and put in the number. Now Google's actually going to send you a verification
code to verify your YouTube channel. And it'll come via text message. So let's go ahead and
put this code in. And once you enter in the code go ahead and hit submit. And congratulations
your YouTube account is now verified.
