So, you're ready to hit the books but you're a bit confused and perhaps anxious about where
to start? Relax. The USQ Learning Centre is the first
stop for all things 'study' related. Meet Lucy.
Lucy and the Learning Centre team can help you to unlock your inner academic and hone
all sorts of study skills that you will need to succeed at university and in real life
for that matter. You might not realise it, but you probably
already have most of these skills. The Learning Centre just helps you to refine them, and
gets you used to how things are done at uni. We can't do your work for you... It's about
empowering you to do it for yourself. So how does it work?
Well we don't offer subject specific help - that's what your lecturer is for!
Let's imagine you have an assignment due and have no idea how to structure your essay.
There are a couple of ways you can use the Learning Centre.
Firstly, you could come in during business hours and have a face-to-face consultation
with one of our Learning Centre team members. Or if you're one of our web savvy students,
you can jump online and meet us in our online classroom or access our extensive online materials...
At the learning centre, there's always a way to get the assistance you need, day or night.
On the USQ Facebook and Twitter Page, Lucy and the community can point you in the right
direction. And you don't have to wait until the last
minute either. Be proactive! Accessing the Learning Centre
is a smart move that will help you think ahead and navigate through uni life.
Just think, you'll probably even learn skills you'll be expected to know in your future
career. Best of all, it's free for all USQ students.
In the end, it's up to you how you use the Learning Centre, but it's nice to know that
Lucy and the team are there. Did I mention it's free?
