Hi it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we are going to show you how to change the door
gasket on your dishwasher, and it's a really easy job and you won’t need any tools; let
me show you how we do it. Now to do this repair we will begin by opening the dishwasher door,
and we are just going to grasp one end of that gasket, right at the very bottom and
you can just pull it out of the opening, all the way around, and then we’ll discard the
old gasket and check the corners and the bottoms on both sides if there's any excess crud or
debris in there, just take a small flat blade screwdriver and clean that out of there, and
just check around the rest make sure there is none in that gap, and once we’ve cleaned
that channel out completely we are going to find the center of that gasket, we’ll just
get both ends even with each other, and then just carefully pull it out until we find the
center, and it should be an indicator mark on that gasket and in case there isn’t,
once you find the center line it up with the center at the top, and then with the narrower
end of the gasket in towards the tub and start fitting that around.
Now the gasket should be just the right length to give just a little bit of excess at the
bottom. If you find you have too much excess there pull back out and try not to stretch
it so much when you push it into position, so keep forcing it into that opening till
the outer edge of it is flushed with the tub itself, they took the tension in the corners.
Once we have it even all the way around and it is firmly pushed into position we’ll
just check the closure of the door, and it may fit a little tighter than it did before
and it should latch easily and then your repair is complete. I told you it was an easy job.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your repair.
