A special parliamentary committee on Friday adopted a resolution demanding Japan stop
its push for collective self-defense... which allows Tokyo to use force in case of an attack
on an ally. The Korean lawmakers on the committee, which
was set up to counter attempts to distort history by countries in Northeast Asia,...
say that Tokyo's push for collective self-defense goes against its constitution... and that
it is aimed at military rearmament. The resolution urges Japan to move away from
efforts to deny or glorify its imperialistic past.
Specifically, it demands that Tokyo accept its legal liability for the Korean victims
of *** slavery during World War II... and offer compensation.
The resolution also calls on Japan to stop making false claims to the Korea-controlled
Dokdo islets.
