mascara?
cosmetics and makeup are NOT considered drugs
therefore they are not required to register with the food and drug administration
instead they have guidelines that they're "supposed" to follow
but a lot of times this doesn't happen and harmful chemicals end up slipping into the makeup's
ingredient formula
I
There are a lot of harmful chemicals present in our eye makeup
take Galena for example. Galena is restricted by the food and drug administration
in the US
but it is STILL present in our eyemakeup that wear here
because a lot of our eyemakeup is produced in foreign countries Where Galena is permitted for use
the chemical commonly placed in lipstick is butylated hydroxytoluene
this chemical prevents oxygen from reacting with substances and changing them into other materials
Also prevents the oxidation of fats and oils that would convert them into rancid, foul-smelling products
this compound is made mostly of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen
with a formula of C15H24O
this STUFF
is chemicals
that are contained in cosmetics such as lipstick, mascara, lipgloss, nailpolish, and moisterizer
a lot of these chemicals have a variety of different uses for the
makeup product they are contained in
one way to tell if a product is natural or not
is to judge by its pronunciation
if an ingredient is difficult to pronounce then most likely its NOT natural
but if you can pronounce it
then there's a good chance it is natural
such as beeswax
a lot of the chemicals that are hard to pronounce, unnatural ones, have a lot of harmful effects.
in the long run
such as carcinogens, cancer, rashes, blisters, and even kidney/liver problems
