General strike
One, two, three, four...
"Free soup for indeterminate duration the strike doesn't stop here"
Your attention please, this is a very big building.
We have trumpets, massage...
We don't want to hurt anybody.
This building has been abandoned for ten years.
Ten years... ten years!
This is a celebration, not to hurt anybody.
Get on the floor, floor... floor! Floor!

Did you know that in Lisbon there's more than 4500 abandoned buildings?
They are empty and dilapidated buildings,
where rubbish and pigeon waste accumulate.
They are houses that are permeating water, that are crumbling.
They could be dangerous for those walking nearby.
And if a group of people, inhabitants of Lisbon and from various part of the world,
with very different ages and very different ideologies,
get together and start cleaning up one of those buildings?
Throwing out rubbish, painting walls,
fixing broken windows and doors...
And if in this building they had created a library and a study?
If they offered various activities and free workshops?
If they had dinners, concerts and poetry readings?
And if in in this building there were art exhibitions, a free shop full of clothes and other goods for those who need it?
And if in this building there were open assemblies, where everyone was invited to participate,
without hierarchy nor leaders, and where everyone's ideas were heard and valued?
And if in this buidling there was a sincere desire to create beautiful things,
to share knowledge, to be sensitive and show solidarity with those who need it?
So, what are you doing in that space?
This house is called "São Lazaro".
It belongs to the local authorities, who left it abandoned and rotting for years,
so we entered and occupied the house in order to open the space for everybody,
because this abandoned house is in very good shape,
it's not completely rotten at all.
There's a lot of space for artists, musicians, social activities and all that kind of stuff.
That's the reason we're here, occupying, without the authorities' agreement,
but to put pressure on these authorities to manage, maybe one day,
to bring this house to life again.
We organize ourselves by assemblies,
the assemblies are every Wednesday and Sunday,
and during these assemblies we always look for consensus between the people present,
consensus in every kind of decision, rennovation work, activities, logistics,
like what time we open, what time we close- because we have neighbours around...
The assembly on Wednesday is going to be specifically about meeting the neighbours,
to talk with them so they can get a real idea about what's happening here
So, tell me something: the assembly is only open to the occupiers or also to others?
The assembly is open to everybody, like all the activities.
This is a public space in the meaning...
- It's free? - it is.
- So the idea was to create a public space to serve the community? - Yes that's it, exactly.
Fascists!
I was playing a drum...
Playing a drum...
He hit him on the head!
You are men! She's a girl!
They will pay for everything,
The films, their methods... They will pay for everything.
- Stop it, stop it! - She's a girl!!!
One, two, three!
Beyond the snitch and the military,
we already see on the way,
The old, sad people crying,
poor widows and children,
Until Paris smells of misery,
even the happy ones are trembling,
the fashion is for councils of war,
and the pavements run with blood,
YES BUT... the earth is shaking,
the bad days will end,
beware! the revenge,
if everyone comes together, if everyone comes together.
They persecute, imprison and shoot,
any random person
the mother next to her daughter,
the child in the arms of the old man
instead of the red flag stirring,
what is stirring is the terror
of the rascal who kneels
at the foot of kings and emperors.
YES BUT... the earth is shaking,
the bad days will end,
beware! the revenge,
if everyone comes together...
Everybody is watching!
Shame! Shame! Shame...
... do you have authorisation to film?
... (inaudible)...
... I'm going to confiscate your camera...
This is a dictatorship of a democracy!
Lots of police, few houses!
Happy pigeon ***,
happy pigeon ***,
happy pigeon ***,
for you Roseta.
Between April 25th and May 31st de 2012
during the occupation of building n°94 of São Lazaro Street, Lisbon,
evacuated by a local authority order issued by their advisor Helena Roseta,
kilos of pigeon *** have been cleaned.
This had accumulated for years since it was abandonned by the legal owner-
the local authority of Lisbon.
They reclaimed it as their property,
so the building's contents belong to them.
Since we don't want to be accused again of stealing and abuse of public property,
We came today to deliver to the legitimate owner, via their representative Helena Roseta,
the pigeon *** which belongs to them.
We thought about recycling as compost,
but as it seems to be a good, which does not belong to us,
we hope that Madame Roseta will give it a use at least as noble as our intended use.
We wish all the best for the new inhabitants of São Lazaro 94,
precarious families that Madame judges to be a priority to live in the building,
which in this case are the pigeon families
who already had the opportunity to occupy the buidling,
as a result of its walling and open windows,
in order to iniciate a new batch of material for compost.
Cell pigeon of São Lazaro 94, 11th of July 2012.
