I challenge you right now to go and grab a phone book.
Go and grab your Yellow-Pages, And even if you're in a small town like the
town my wife and I live in where there is about
50k people... Open it up to the "CHURCHES" section, even
in our town, there is 3,4,5 pages of churches, 100's of
listings. If you go in a major city, then just on one
block there will be ten churches... Is this what
Jesus was talking about when He told the Pharisees that asked for
a sign, He said, DESTROY THIS TEMPLE AND THREE DAYS I WILL
REBUILD IT. Was He talking about all of these 100's of
thousands of man-made shrines spread across the countries...
Was that what He was talking about? Was He talking about the 38k+ denominations
of Christianity? Is that what Jesus was talking about?
Is that the "Church" that Jesus built? Is that the "Church" that Jesus paid for with
His blood? Is that what He was talking about?
He has shown me differently. The true called-out ones, the set-apart people,
the different breed of people, the tribe that Jesus called out
is a peculiar people. The ekklesia, the called-out ones...
They were not called to a denomination... They were not called to a building made with
human hands... They are joined together by the Spirit of
the Living God, the Spirit of Jesus - He rules and reigns
and leads them and they are connected and yoked together
because they are abiding in Jesus the True Vine.
My friends, true "Church" membership has nothing to do with these buildings. The Body of Christ
are those that are filled with the Spirit of the Living God,
that are led by the Spirit of the Living God. My friends, "Church" membership is beyond
any box that any man could make. The Most High God
does not dwell in buildings made with human hands.
He dwells within me. He dwells within all those
who follow and obey Jesus, who walk in the Spirit,
and living lives of holiness, righteousness, and in obdience to Jesus,
those that are connected to Jesus, those that are abiding in Jesus.
Those are the living stones, that make up the true "Church" of the Living
God. My friends, are you a member of the "Church"
that men built, or are you a member of the Church that Jesus
built? May Jesus bless you.
