Today we will make bathua bhujiya
Calcium and iron are available in abundance in bathua leaves which is very beneficial for our health
Let’s see what all ingredients are required for making bathua bhujiya
Bathua - 500 grams (1 bunch)
Asafoetida - 1-2 pinch
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Green chilly - 2 (chopped into small pieces)
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Salt - .45 tsp (as per taste)
Red chilly powder - ¼ tsp
Mustard oil - 2 tbsp
Clean the bathua first.
Take out the soft leaves and remove the stalk.
Wash the leaves twice thoroughly and place them in sieve so that water drains out
After this we will chop the leaves.
We will boil the leaves first for making bathua.
Add .45 cup of water
Check after 5 minutes.
Cook the leaves for 2 more minutes.
Add some more water.
Leaves have become tender, turn off the gas.
Add 2 tsp oil in pan.
When oil gets hot add asafoetida, cumin seeds and sauté for while
After suating cumin seeds add turmeric powder and bathua.
Add salt, reed chilly powder and mix all ingredients nicely.
We don’t require too much of spices for making this bhujiya.
Cook as it for 2 minutes
Bathua bhujiya is ready; turn off the gas.
Serve bathua bhujiya with roti or parantha
