Hi this is Dr, James lani with Statistics Solutions
and here's a really easy way to write up a sample size justification
or a power analysis, and what I'm going to show you here is 23 different
test with numerous permutations
for the tests. So for example if you wanted to
figure out how many participants you need for an ANCOVA.
You would just click the ANCOVA button and decide how many levels of your IV
you have for you independent variable
and you covariates. You simply click on it and there you have right in front of
you
the sample size calculation, for example 73 for a large effect size.
179 for a medium effect size and so forth.
So that's just for one of the tests.
Other common tests are also in here for example, Multiple Regression,
Point-Biserial Correlation,
Chi-Squares and lets just go ahead look at a Chi-Square.
You just click on the Chi-Square,
select the degrees of freedom and we describe what
degree of freedom means in the Chi-Square context.
Let's just say we have a Chi-Square with six degrees of freedom.
Again, you just click on that, and that would literally be your sample size
justification.
I hope that you find this enormously helpful and easy.
