#9 Gum on My Shoes
I often think there's so much more out there that I could be doing. But I'm hampered by
the feeling I have gum stuck to the bottom of my shoes. I can't seem to take the first
step from standing in the same place wishing for more yet incapable of doing anything about
it. Is it fear of the unknown, the change or possible success that paralyses me from
moving forward? Perhaps. But it could also be the jolt to my comfort zone & the lack
of confidence that keeps me stagnant.
Whatever it is ... it is debilitating for any of us. We're deprived from getting more
out of life, perhaps changing directions or just getting better at something.
It's reaching that stage of complacency that whispers to us that this is enough, you're
good enough, there's nothing else out there for us. It swathes us in the cloak of security
of our routine and we're left believing that this is as good as it gets. Accept it.
At times that truly is good enough to make us happy. But other times we need that kick
from the back to propel us into a new direction forcing us to change.
In university I heard a lecture on the notion of "grow or die." I liked what was said. "when
we choose to be stagnant we will rot, slowly decay and die. However in choosing growth
we continue to build, amend and experience our world from a new angle thus staying fresh.
In other words get out there & revitalize yourself ... you might like it where it leads
you. Stay well~!!~
