As if Elmo's reputation hasn't been hit hard enough, Dan Sandler, also known as "Evil Elmo,"
has pleaded not guilty to larceny and other charges after being accused of trying to extort
millions from the Girl Scouts of America.
The Examiner reports Sandler threatened to spread damaging rumors about the organization.
He allegedly wrote in one email he'd spread false " ... claims that the Girl Scouts arranged
*** encounters between adult men and underage girls at a scout camp — unless he was given
a well-paid position or $2 million."
Sandler is referred to as "Evil Elmo" because he plays a sinister version of the Sesame
Street character in street performances. He was even arrested after an anti-Semitic tirade
stopped traffic. (Via KSDK)
The Inquisitr takes a look at some of Sandler's messages which detail his demands against
the Girl Scouts.
Sandler wrote: "I want a telecommute job from home of life at 150K. Or a two million dollar
cash settlement. As you know, the newspapers like to cover my evil Elmo scenario ... How
you treat me as a person will go a long way in regards to how I treat the Girl Scouts
in the press, on the Internet and on YouTube."
Before his recent conflict with the Girl Scouts, Sandler was charged with disorderly conduct
after causing a scene in Times Square. And his troubled past doesn't end there. (Via

According to Gawker, Sandler was deported from Cambodia in 1999 after starting a controversial
pornagraphic website called "Welcome to the *** Camp."
Sandler is currently being held in a Manhattan jail where his bail stands at $200,000. Sandler's
next court appearance is scheduled for June 13th.
