the so-called limited nuclear option
an actual in the nuclear option would be you can't filibuster legislation
unless you stand and talk
you know the the real talking filibuster which is what Jeff Merkley is pushing
for
and I think would be a great idea well as this isn't being considered
Harry Reid threaten the limited nuclear option which was in a requiring simple a
simple majority vote simply
for a nominee's for presidential nominees now for judges
now for laws just for nominees and the Republican said okay we'll tell you what
will give you that
if the president would rise to have his NLRB ago nominations
and such
organize labor Bay has some say in
nominating to others and then will it prove that
so basically the constitution says that the president gets to appoint these
people
and Republican said okay we'll go along with us
if you just ignore what the constitution says if the president can have
yourself a mass killing its
now the White House has a waiting on this but presumably they're gonna go
along with this
and arguably it's a victory for the democrats i mean at least third
democrats are aggressively spinning at that way the republicans are saying they
say why did you do this well according to John McCain
he said that to the senate was embarrassed because their approval
rating is just below that of a colonoscopy
and according to
Senator Lindsey Graham he said the republicans went along with it
because it prevented the 12 percent approval rating at the senate has from
dropping down to four percent
which would be way below call ask me
but any it's interesting times in the political world and part have
those interesting times the consequences the 2012 election
the republicans lost the house represented by million they have boats
yet they control house representatives will set about
the republicans lost seats in the Senate and yet
with the minority they're able to be the tail that wags the dog in the senate as
I was just describing
and the president as states seems not able to get
a whole lot done and what he can get done like his health care reform now
he's backing off for a year on
at least on the employer mandate portion of it and Republicans are gleeful about
that
which is not to say he hasn't gotten a lot of good stuff done but
it sure seems like the republicans don't back down in the republicans
and the democrats do more often than not
