Sylvia and I were all smiles as we arrived at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station
Once we got our bearings, Sylvia and I expressed it over to the Pennsylvania Convention Center
in Center City Philadelphia. It's where Trans-Health is held every year
Trans-health also grows every year, and is now the largest transgender gathering in the
world, by far
This is file video, since cameras are not allowed, this year. So we will not have a
video account of the exciting lectures and workshops we attended while inside
Go dark
After the seminars, Sylvia and I checked into our hotels.
Sylvia again at the Ritz-Carlton, on the south side of Philadelphia's beautiful and historic
City Hall
And me at Le Meridien, just north of City Hall
Upon arriving in my room, I was delighted to see sun bursting thru clouds
signifying that the storms we were concerned about in Part 2, were now over
The social component at Trans-Health also extremely hectic
For example, as soon as Ms Sylvia and I got we checked in and got settled in our hotel
rooms, we expressed it back to the Convention Center to have dinner with friends from the
conference
That included Robin and Kevin and Matt
I do a Youtube channel
I hope you don't mind, Matt
Depends on what you say about me!
While many trans conferences have traditionally been heavily dominated by Trans-women, trans-men
turn out in great numbers at Trans-Health
Yes, let's head on over
and that increased interaction with transmen has helped me learn really fascinating things
about female to male transition, which in many ways is a direct mirror image to ours
Oh darn, we'regonna miss the light
YouTube!
Here Sylvia is telling Robin how she came out to her daughter only one day before
For the riveting details, you'll have to watch Trans-Health Chronicles Part 1 if you haven't
done so already
What street is this?
Is there a sign? I think this is Tenth.
We can either go up this way or go up one more
We'll go up this way
Did you come to last year's conference, Robin?
I don't remember. It's just a year ago. Yougo to that many conferences?
While there is generally great comraderie between Transmen and transwomen, sometimes
conflicts do arise
Like this statement Kevin made about transwomen being immature
That really got me going!
In terms of like maturity. okay.
So if you're the transwoman she's at that male development stage, while the female-to-male
is at the female development stage
No, you're looking at it the wrong way
The transfemale was always female. She wasn't male
Developmentally she developed as a female
Not from what my experiences are
How would you know? You've never been a transwoman!
Well every single transwoman I've dated
But that's just anecdotal
You could be selecting trans women who are less mature
Maybe that's it
And carI interject here?
I've known Kevin for yearsnow, terrific guy, adorable and sweet as a peach.
But I've only seen him with very tall, thin, blondes in their very early twenties
In other words, not an extremely large slice of the transfem community. Not even close
You're definitely male in the fact that you are putting your foot in your mout habout
women
That's a very male thing to do.
We're here, we're here.
We chose the restaurant Sakura, in Philly Chinatown, because Sylvia and I really enjoyed
it last year at Trans-Health 2012
Yes, because you like dating immature trans women
I'm done with that. I am done with that
Management instantly seated us at a table in the front of the restaurant, allowing us
to make a subtle, yet important political and social statement about the growing acceptance
of trans people in society
What's your verdict Kevin? Is it good?
Mine is yummy too,
Robin?
Something nice to chew on...
