Hello, this is Ari :)
Today, I'm going to make 2nd special menu for my pets (cats), continuing from the 'birthday cake for my cats' tutorial.
I'm going to make pizza that cats can eat!
Who likes pizza~~? Hehe I really love pizza as well. I go crazy for pizza especially when there is sweet potato mousse as topping.
So today's menu will be pizza with sweet potato mousse on top!
Then let's start today's creative and fun cooking! Zoom!
Today's ingredients!
Normally flour is used for the pizza dough. I will make the dough part with chicken breast.
Chicken breast and salmon have high protein and are in low calories, so these are great ingredients for cats.
I prepared chicken breast which can be easily found in grocery stores.
And I will use 'superfood', tomatoes (5~6 cherry tomatoes), to make the tomato sauce.
I will use cottage cheese for the cheese topping. You can easily make cottage cheese at home.
200g of milk, 1 teaspoon of lemon extract (or vinegar is ok too!)
As for the optional ingredients, I prepared spinach, boiled potato, dried bonito flakes and catnip flakes!
My cats love bonito or catnip flakes, so I prepared these additionally. These are not necessary.
I guess these two ingredients are sort of like drugs to cats
I will give these to you guys later, okay?
Hey! No! lol
Then I will quickly make it now. Let's start!
Step 1 - Making pizza dough
First, slice the chicken breast into thin strips and finely chop them into small pieces. Mince the chicken breast so you can make it into a patty.
I grinded them on the food processor after mincing.
You can make it into a patty and press the middle to make it look like a pizza dough.
I will place them in the fridge for a while before transferring them on the frying pan.
Step 2 - Making tomato sauce
Making tomato sauce! Remove the stems from the cherry tomatoes and make slightly crossed cuts.
When you blanch them in water for 30 seconds, the peels will come off easily.
Slightly boil the spinach in the boiling water for 10 seconds.
After you remove the peels from tomatoes, chop them into fine pieces. Maybe many of you guys already know~ but cooking tomatoes increase the level of nutrients.
Put suitable amount of bonito flakes into the chopped tomatoes and cook them on mid-low heat until it begins to look like a sauce.
It looks like spaghetti sauce. Hehe just leave it to cool.
Step 3 - Making cottage cheese
Making cottage cheese! Boil milk until you see the bubbles on mid-low heat. Stir in lemon extract or vinegar and change to low heat.
When you heat it on the low heat, you will begin to see small clumps. These small clumps kind of look like tofu or pureed soybean. Hehe
When you see the yellowish lactose starts to separate, turn off the heat~ use a clean cloth to remove the water. Then it's done!
If this is too much of a hassle, you can use cheese for kids. Hehe
Step 4 - Making sweet potato mousse
Mash the boiled pumpkin sweet potato with a fork and sift the mashed sweet potato for a smooth mousse.
Step 5 - Topping
Transfer the chicken breast dough on the frying pan.
Put tomato sauce on the dough
Chop and put the blanched spinaches
Top up the cottage cheese~
And decorate with sweet potato mousse as you like. Hehe
Lastly, sprinkle catnip and bonito flakes on top.
Step 6 - Cooking When you finish with the toppings, cook on low heat with the lid for 5 minutes! Don't open the lid while waiting~ Hehe
After cooking for 5 minutes, remove the lid and cook until the moisture evaporates from the pan.
Tada~~ Sweet potato mousse chicken pizza is completed!
There are things I learned while I studied making handmade pet food.
I do not mean that all pet foods are bad, but thought that natural ingredients are better than the processed food for the pets as well.
As animals also need fresh nutrients to live healthy like humans do. Right?
My words got long. I just wanted that many of you guys living with pets will continue to love and take good care of your pets.
I feel like I lost the world when my pets get sick.
Well~~~ Now let's treat my cats!
Yummy food time♥
Cookie doesn't like the moth on the window.
They eat really well~♥
They keep eating >ㅅ<
Will you please move, Cookie..?
I'm happy they are eating well *^^*
I've been treating my pets with handmade pet food at least twice and at most 5 times per month.
Sometimes my cats refuse to eat the healthy ingredients I mix in for the sake of their good health. lol
In that case, I mix in bonito flakes, and they will eat them well.
Although it's difficult to do this daily, try giving them fresh pet food. You will see that your pets are getting healthier.
Well how was Sweet Potato Mousse Chicken Pizza I made for my pets?
