>> Patrick: Welcome to Pepsi with Brigid, we are off to get a bite to eat at Herm's
Palace and I'm going to take my mom to go see some signs. I have been obsessed with
signs for some reason
>>Brigid: We will see what this is all about. (laughter)
>>Patrick: I blame her for this obsession, we'll go fix it, let's go look at it.
>>Brigid: so they come and carry you in? Should I go ask?
>>Patrick: so just imagine that you are a quadriplegic or one of the 15 million drivers
with disabilities and you need gas in your car.
>>Brigid: It says "Fueling"
>>Patrick: What does that mean?
>>Brigid: Does it mean they are going to come out? What does it mean?
>>Patrick: I am going to take you to this Shell here and there's a sticker right there.
>>Brigid: Right. Refueling service will be provided upon request at self-service prices
to motorist with disabilities and if the vehicle displays an official state or locally issued
disabled motorist plate or placard.
Refueling services will not be provided when there is only one employee on duty. Honk your
car horn twice and an employee on duty will pump your gasoline for you if one is available
you may also use the intercom for this purpose.
If you are pumping your own gas and the card readers is inaccessible to you, an employee
on duty will turn on the pump for you remotely when you lift the nozzle. Raise the lever
and select the desired grade of gasoline.
How are you supposed feel to do all that if you're disabled?
I don't get it, but, I really don't get it. I don't get why they put the sign out there
>>Patrick: So here we are, welcome back to Pepsi with Brigid, we are back from out trip
out to see the signs, it's a lot to take in..
>Brigid: It's a lot to take in. I am leaving for Louisville to see my sister Maureen and
her husband Jay and I am going to to be checking out more signs and try to come to some conclusion
about all of these signs and maybe everyone else will too and then we will talk some more
about it.
>>Patrick: What is your initial reaction to it though?
>>Brigid: I have no idea why all of these signs are in the world for disabled people
that mean absolutely nothing, that's my reaction.
>>Patrick: So we will follow up with this next week, thanks for joining us on Pepsi
with Brigid - we will be back next week after her trip to Louisville, thanks for tuning
in and next week we should have an interesting discussion.
>>Brigid: Bye-Bye.
