The video content manager application allows you to source video or images in
the archive. It is the media management tool. Over on the left hand side we have our search
criteria where we can come and make selections from the metadata of particular fields. You
will notice that there are a number of system data fields that we can search across as well.
When we search across the assets in the archive, the application will bring
back those results here in the search results pane. At this point users can also look at
the individual metadata. They can make updates to this metadata if you have appropriate
access rights. We can look at the proxy that was made at the time of ingest simply by clicking
the preview image which will bring up the player. At this point a user can click
the play button and now we're playing a proxy of the high resolution video that is in the archive itself.
You can scrub through the particular piece with the scrub bar.
You can do audio scrubbing and also use speed controls.
There are also tools that allow you to move within the piece itself, including a storyboard at the bottom of the
player where a user can click on a particular image and be able to jump to that particular point in the video.
You can also now make decisions now whether you want to export this video entirely.
If you want to export the entire low resolution or high resolution video to a video editing
application, simply click the export button. Or you can select a sub clip from this piece
by marking an in and out point using the scissor buttons, and then clicking export.
Now the sub clip is added to our export queue. You will notice that our time code is marked correctly, showing our new in and out points.
To export this sub clip, click the export button at the top of the screen to switch to the export tab.
Now we make decisions where they want to send the video
to, whether it be to a local file system or a video editing application.
For advanced options the user can choose if you want to send the entire file or the entire directory
structure, maintain security settings, etc. For a more in depth look at all these options,
be sure to look at the user documentation. Once we click "start export", the application is going to
find that particular piece of content and deliver it to the desired destination.
The status bar will show when the export is complete by marking green.
If this particular asset was on tape and not accessible to hi-res, the user will be notified.
In this case the asset has been delivered to our desired location.
Now we can go back to the search tab and start making decisions on the next asset to take out of the system.
Thank you for watching this video tutorial.
