All right, let's talk about some more terminology. All right, you have a strike. Then, if you
throw another strike right after the first, they call that a double. Now, you throw another
strike, that's a triple. They also call that a turkey. Now, you got splits; two pins far
apart. You have a baby split; now a baby split, the pins are close enough together to take
your ball and fit it in between the two, and the ball will take out the front pin, and
the back pin; that's a baby split. On a regular split, the ball has to slice one pin, slide
it into the lane against the other pin, and that's how you make a regular split. So that's
the difference between baby split, big split. Now, another thing is a chop; the dreaded
chop. You have two pins that are right next to each other. You throw the ball, you think
you have it; the ball takes a little turn, and just takes out one pin, and leaves the
other pin just sitting there. That's a chop; you want to pull your hair out. Now, when
you're bowling in a league, the last guy to go, he's called the anchorman. Now, a lot
of times it comes down to that one last shot where he has to throw a strike, and that anchorman;
he's supposed to throw it, and a good anchorman will throw it every time. Give me the pressure,
and I'll do it. Just give me a chance to win; I'll get it done. A good anchorman's going
to throw that strike. Well, a lot of times, during league play, or when you're just out
with your friends at there's a there's a great frame; the best frame that I know of. It's
called the beer frame. Now the beer frame is let's say you've got five guys bowling
on the same team. Now, first guy throws a strike, second guy throws a strike, third
guy throws a strike, fourth guy throws a strike. Now you're in a beer frame, who's going to
pay? If that last guy doesn't throw that strike he buys everybody a beer. Same thing; if the
first guy misses, and the other guys four guys throw strikes, the first guy; he buys
the beer. So, in a beer frame, you get ten beer frames a game. Every frame could be a
beer frame, but everyone that throws a strike, except for one person, and that one person;
well, what kind of beer you like?
