Today’s ZouTorial is on using the Electronic Lock Kiosk located in many of your halls with
electronic key card access.
To begin, you’ll need to determine which type of kiosk you’re using.
Some halls use a newer model with an exposed card encoder while older kiosks have a flush
card encoder.
The software processes on both machines are the same, but the card reader on the exposed
kiosk ejects and re-inserts the card throughout the encoding process.
Let’s begin!
We’ll be using the exposed kiosk for this demonstration.
If you need your initial Tiger Pin, it can be found in the “My Check In” verification
page on MyZou dot Missouri dot e-d-u.
Part 1: For check-in’s, re-encoding, or if you just have a new ID.
Insert your ID, on the screen, tap the option labeled “Update ID Card,” and follow the
instructions.
Remember that if you’re using an exposed kiosk, your ID will eject and re-insert itself
into the encoder during the encoding process.
Once the encoding is complete, you can take your card.
If you are reassigned to a different room, this is also how you will re-encode your card
for your new room.
Part 2: For lock outs or lost ID.
If you need a temporary card, the kiosk is available to help you.
On the main screen, tap the option labeled “Get Temporary Card,” and follow the instructions.
(tapping noise)
When you receive your temporary card, you will need to re-encode it before using it
to enter your room.
Part 3: Changing your PIN number.
Make sure you open your room at least once before you change your PIN number, and never
give out your PIN number to anyone, even your roommates or suitemates.
On the main screen, tap the option labeled “Change PIN.”
You’ll need to insert your ID and follow the instructions.

Your new PIN number cannot be the same as your old PIN number.
