We're talking today about Dual Code Theory, which was developed by Allan Paivio. Essentially
Dual Code Theory states that people perceive verbal and nonverbal stimuli through their
sensory systems, or their eyes and their ears. Once this stimuli flows through the sensory
systems, it proceeds to the verbal and non-verbal associative systems, and while these systems
do function independently, when working together the learning process is enhanced. This is
similar in theory to Baddeley's 'Episodic Buffer', and results in increased verbal and
non-verbal responses. That's Dual Code Theory. Thank you for watching.
