Hey Mega Man fans, this is ShadowRock and welcome back to Mega Man Network Transmission!
Last time, we found out that StarMan is spreading the bad vaccine, and stopped GutsMan from rampaging.
We're starting off here with grinding and shopping I did mostly off-screen.
I did record it however, so I can show y'all what I did exactly.
Right now we're in Den Area 2, showing the path I neglected to take back in the first episode.
If you actually stay next to the right wall as you fall down, you can get to this area here.
Watch out for the Canodumb waiting to ambush you though.. ouch.
Anyway, normally we'd need the Double Jump chip to get up here, but we can get here this way too.
Get the two blue Mystery Datas here for a MemUP, and a LongSword battle chip.
We can't go much further here until we have Double Jump, so let's move on to the next area I want to show.
This time I'm going to show the lower path you can take in Global Area 2 coming from Dex's PC.
We can also get a couple goodies here too while we're at it.
Be careful not to get hit by the Fishy coming your way once you get near the end here like I did...
Get the Mystery Datas here for a HiCannon chip, and another MemUP.
As you can see, this leads to Global Area 3 like the Normal Navi mentioned, but it's locked for now.
That's it for this area. Let's move on shall we?
Over in the Outer Net, I buy a few PowerUPs, HPMemorys, and MemUPs from NumberMan's shop.
I bought two of each of the power up items by the end of this grinding session. Selling NumberMan out of his PowerUPs.
I chose to use the two PowerUPs I bought to max out the Charge stat.
My reason for doing that is I like to be able to charge my shots fast, it helps me a lot in this game.
We'll power up the Attack stat soon, and then we'll be pretty overpowered after that.
There is a Level 5 security over here, the highest level security in the game.
It will lead to a stage we'll tackle more towards the end of the game.
Meanwhile at Higsby's store, I bought a Wood Armor to prepare for the stage we'll be doing in this episode.
That ghost looking virus is a Spooky. If you don't delete it fast it will teleport around and eventually try to attack you by licking.
The virus can also heal itself, and can be typically hard to hit. Fast-hitting chips like Cannon are the most effective.
It can drop Recovery or Invis chips. Obviously the stronger variants drop better versions of the chips.
Be careful in this section.. it's pretty easy to accidentally get snagged on a spike and kill yourself.
This jump right here is a real pain to do with that low ceiling. You might want to wait to get Double Jump first to have a easier time.
The Mystery Data gives us a FullCust subchip.. not entirely useful, but it can help in a tight spot.
You can't get QuickGauge or FullCust as regular chips in this game unlike in the Battle Network series.
They're only subchips you can use from the start menu and you will have to buy more once you use them all up.
If you don't know, QuickGauge increases the rate your Custom Gauge fills up.
FullCust just fills the custom gauge completely upon use.
Meanwhile in Global Area 1, I pick up the Mystery Data I missed earlier to get a WideSword chip.
And now I buy some more power ups from NumberMan.
Now the way I grinded for zenny isn't exactly a easy route, but it works.
What I did was jack in from Lan's house, and just play all the way from Den Area 1 up to the Outer Net collecting all the zenny I can.
After that, I jack out, rinse and repeat until I have enough to buy something.
You can get about 2000 - 4000 zenny per run through this way depending on how much you collect.
I'm sure there are faster ways to grind for zenny, but it's all I could do for now.
As you can see, with the Charge stat at max, we can charge at insanely fast speeds, making taking out smaller enemies quickly a menial task.
And that's it, after I finish buying the rest of the stuff we'll move on to the next stage. See you guys then.
And we're back. First I need to edit my chip folder for the upcoming stage.
Off-screen, I fought FireMan in the Net Battle Simulator a bunch of times to get 5 copies of his chip. It will come in handy.
I'll also add in Invis that I got from the Spooky virus.
The Invis chips are great to have as they stop you from taking damage for a period of time.
I also got GutsMan's chips from the battle simulator, so why not throw that in just in case?
I mostly need to replace a lot of the weak-sauce chips I don't need.
Just throwing in some fire chips for good measure now.
With that and the fact I bought a Wood Armor, you can probably guess what type of stage we're heading into now.
Or y'all probably read the video title so you already know you cheaters!
Before we go, make sure to buy at least one Unlocker since there will be a important locked Mystery Data in the stage we're going.
Yep, we're going to Yai's garden. Let's check it out!
So obviously this place is going to be filled with Wood elemental viruses so that's where the Wood Armor comes in handy.
Watch out for the Mettaur dropping down from the ceiling as you approach that top ledge.
I guess he wants our chocolate or battle chip cereal.
These viruses are KillPlants. They are stationary plant viruses that spit out seeds.
If their seed does not hit you, it will sit there for a little bit and then form into a spike.
The KillPlant family drops the TreeBomb chips which act like the seeds the viruses spit out.
That is a Mushy. A mushroom-like virus that moves by scurrying back and forth on the grass.
It attacks by spreading spores around its body. So as long as you stay a good distance away from it you'll be fine.
The Mushy family drops the Spice chips.
Go down the ladder to the right and there will be a HP Memory past the Popper virus, don't miss it!
Poppers either elevate up or drop down and keep themselves hidden and protected, only popping their heads out for a moment to attack.
When it attacks, it fires a 3-Way shot. Only at this time is it vulnerable to attacks, so its typically a pain to deal with.
Popper viruses drop these chips depending on the variant: 3-Way (V1 - 3), Stonebody (V1), Barrier (V2 & V3), and Drop Down (V3)
This virus on the ground is known as a Gabyoall, or Spine that is also a common enemy in the Mega Man Classic and X series.
They travel along the ground and bounce in the reverse direction when meeting an edge, increasing in speed as MegaMan gains proximity.
It can be destroyed by any weapon including the Mega Buster.
The chips they drop are Stonebody (V1), Ironbody (V2), and Metalbody V3,
You will want to go back riding the cyber bar here as there's a Mystery Data at the top.
This one is pretty easy to miss the first time through, so make sure you get it for a HP Memory.
Entering into Garden Comp 2, we come across KillWeed, the second version of the KillPlant family.
They will drop the TreeBomb 2 chip.
Above that first KillWeed, you can also see Popper 2. But I'm not going to bother with it for now.
Going along this path we'll come across many Mushys and KillPlants, so deal with them quickly and move on.
This Spiny is guarding a Locked Mystery Data, get a weapon you can aim down with to delete it.
The locked data will contain a PowerUP, so it's definitely worth the trouble. This is why buying unlockers is important.
Now we can increase our attack to a whopping level 3, so we're getting our stats pretty high already.
Trivia: These spikes that come down from the ceiling are also in NeedleMan's stage in Mega Man 3.
But they still hurt a lot, so try not to get hit by them too much.
This part can be tricky. Jump on to the top block as soon as you see the needle recede, and proceed.
We're almost there, just one more KillWeed to deal with.
There's two Mystery Datas on the right of the portal, so don't miss them.
To get the bottom one you'll have to drop down. Getting back up requires a semi-tricky jump, but not too bad.
Be careful not to mess up the jump though or you'll fall to your death and have to go through Garden Comp 2 all over again...
We'll get the Spreader chip and a MemUP for our troubles.
Get your chips ready, and head through to netbattle NeedleMan!
You gotta stop... what? Fail.
Being a wood navi, NeedleMan is easily dispatched with fire attacks. He's not too bad though.
He'll attack with his needle arm, firing needles at you which you can dodge by sliding underneath.
If you get near him, he'll gladly poke your face with his needles at close range, try to stay away.
His third attack he can jump in the air and fire multiple needles down at the ground, watch where they fire and position yourself accordingly.
When he surrounds himself with some leaves and wind looking stuff, that's a sign he is about to initiate his desperation attack.
Get under him as soon as he jumps in the air be cause he will fire loads of needles in every other direction except for under him.
And that's NeedlMan, a fun boss but not nearly as hard as the last two we faced in my opinion.
For winning, you'll either get his Navi chip or the Needle Arm chip.
After this, we'll get a email from Dad talking about how to upgarde your Buster, but I already went over that.
Yai will also talk about how she actually likes NeedleMan's changes to her garden... go figure.
And that's all for this episode. Next time, we shall continue on to the next stage!
This is ShadowRock signing off. Thanks for watching, and have a nice day.
