- Hello guys, we are at the place where all the magic happens...
- We are at my video editing place
.... actually it's my computer, but here is the place that....
... this magic of merging videos, turn them into
reallity!
- This video is about how I create closed captions
that I upload to my side-channel called Flagamer29
- This is the first time i'll show the behind-the-scenes
of how I make my videos
- Reminding there are two types of subtitles
- Open Captioning are those fixed subtitles
available in some cable tv channels
... that can not be taken out of the screen
and Closed Captioning or Closed Caption, as you know..
... subtitles that can be removed of the screen
... available in some cable tv channels
... and for a decade it has been available on...
on open-air tv, both analogic
and digital television broadcasting lately
offers closed caption too.
- Let's go to Sony Vegas
- On sony vegas, you put the cursor wherever you wanna start
subtitling
- Then, press C button
and it'll pop up a window to type your subtitle
you want.
- After typing, click OK
and move forward some second to press again C
to make a subtitle and this over and over again
- In order to activate closed captions on sony vegas...
... go to that icon above and select Closed Captioning CC1 primary
... then you'll see the closed caption.
- In order to create a null space between two subtitles
... use this technique:
- Create a simple, fast and short message to your subtitle
'0' for instance...
then, edit this closed caption and erase this '0'
- This whole code shown above means that, in that moment
there won't be any kind of information written.
- Fixing an unsynch is simple: just drag the subtitle created
to a desired point and it's done.
- Keep on doing that, you'll finish subtitling soon.
- The correct timing of your subtitle is set up by the following
subtitles you create
whether it be text subtitle or null space subtitle
- In case you wanna add something and there would be an err
on your subtitle...
... you should erase everything and type it again from the scratch
then this error will disappear.
- After subtitling the whole video, go to Tool, Scripting
and Export Closed Captioning for Youtube.
- A .srt file will be created
- As you have already synched your subtitle, there won't be
any concerns to be worried
- Open the .srt file on Notepad to a last check up
- Check also if the subtitle is up to two lines each
On video manager, next to Edit Button, click on Captions
on the video you wanna add subtitles
Click on add new captions
- Pick up the created .srt file and it's done
- It's your option to change the name of the file
and click on upload file.
- Your subtitle is now available for everyone on Youtube.
- To make long story short, just create many subtitles
then drag them to the desired place
- This way, you'll sych every subtitle.
- You shouldn't create long subtitles so that everybody can read
fast.
- I hope you liked this tutorial
