London police arrested an elderly couple for allegedly holding three women as slaves for
about 30 years -- a Malaysian woman, 69, an Irish woman, 57, and a British woman, 30.
Joseph Kony, the accused war criminal wanted by African troops and US advisors, is still
on the loose. However, Central African Republic's government says Kony has been talking with
the president about a surrender. His group, the Lord's Resistance Army, is known for kidnapping
children and forcing them to become soldiers or sex slaves.
Today marks 50 years since the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas. Family
members, politicians and friends will gather as a new JFK monument will be unveiled on
the infamous "grassy knoll." The monument is inscribed with the final paragraph of the
speech JFK intended to deliver the day he was killed.

Alabama's parole board pardoned the last three of the infamous Scottsboro Boys — 80 years
after their convictions. In 1931, nine black men were falsely accused of raping two white
women on an Alabama train. The men were initially convicted by all-white juries and nearly all
were sentenced to death. The Supreme Court intervened. Four of the men ended up being
re-convicted, and the others had to start new lives. A new law passed in Alabama allowed
for the posthumous pardons, finally paving the way to clear the names of Haywood Patterson,
Charles Weems and Andy Wright.
Senate Democrats invoked the long-threatened "nuclear option" by voting to eliminate filibusters
for most presidential nominations -- meaning they'll need only a simple majority to pass,
not a 60-vote threshold. This historic change to Senate rules is likely to cause even more
tension between Republicans and Democrats.
The FCC is considering allowing the use of cell phones on planes flying above 10,000
feet. The head of the FCC said, "The time is right to review our outdated and restrictive
rules."
A federal jury awarded Apple $290 million in damages in its patent feud with Samsung.
Apple had long argued that Samsung copied the iPhone and iPad in 13 Samsung smartphones
and tablets.
The NY Rangers defeated the Dallas stars last night 3-2 led by Henrik Lundqvist's 41 saves.
The Brooklyn Nets are in Minnesota tonight at 8pm.
