This handy little gadget is the iScope
This clever piece of kit attaches to an ordinary smart phone,
and allows you to record from the iScope exactly what you see in your rifle scope.
So for all you budding Steven Spielbergs out there, or Team Wild wannabes,
you can now record everything on your phone, take it down your mates, take it down the pub and show them exactly how you've got on.
But you can't go telling them porkie pies because the camera never lies.
Now we have loads of cool kit here at Team Wild.
And we test out and have a go with everything new that comes on the market. So we're going to have a closer look at the iScope.
The guys over at iScope say it will fit over 90% of scopes.
And if it doesn't fit they can custom order you one that will.
They also say it can be used on deer rifles, shotguns, pistols, crossbows, spotting scopes, airsoft and even BB guns.
Pretty much anything with a scope.
It comes complete with instructions but like it says on the packet, 'for the high tech redneck!'.
Would a redneck read instructions? I'm not going to bother.
Now I know Ian plans to use this on his upcoming turkey hunt in America, to get some extra footage in the bag.
But I thought, I'll get my hands on it before he does.
This version is for the iphone4.
But as my one is wrapped in this rather funky and practical otterbox, we've had to get the iScope otterbox conversion to go on the back.
It's just a case of taking out three bolts from the back, screwing this on and we're good to go.
So that's on there now nice and secure. Just get the phone in there.
Get it on the range, get a few shots through it, and see how it performs.
Right, I'm all set up and ready to go.
But as I was pulling the bolt back, it was catching on this bolt here.
So I've had to take the bolt out to get everything right.
And I'm guessing if I hadn't chucked the instructions away, there would have been something in there telling me how to avoid this.
So don't be a moron like me, actually read the instructions.
So that was ten shots, down range at a fat chick.
Now I've flicked the camera back round on itself, so you can get that reaction once you've taken that perfect kill.
Yaaaaaas.
So there we have it. About 35 yards, with the Daystate Huntsman.
Really good, tight little group in there.
Little flier in there, but that's probably me. I don't think I can blame the iScope for that.
So my accuracy hasn't suffered due to using the iScope.
And I managed to get all ten shots there on the phone.
So I can take them back, put them in my computer, and edit them if I want.
But I'm going to give them to Dan the camera man and see what magic he can work on them.
Then I'm going to show them to Wildy, down the pub.
Nice one.
Yaaaaaaaas
