Accent chairs are where form and function cross paths in the home.
When chosen well they will complement the design and feeling of
the room without sacrificing comfort in the name of style. The greatest thing about
using an accent chair is the freedom that comes with it.
An accent chair doesn't have to match the furniture already in the room or any
particular theme. Although it wont hurt anything if it does. It is more a matter of
taste and what you want to say with the piece. You can make it as light
or as loud as you want.
Pattern and material are a large part of what makes an accent chair pop.
Some accent chairs are fluffy, full in classic or contemporary style.
While more modern models
may be sleek and streamlined. Traditional upholstery may be leather and fabric.
Ultra modern pieces may be clad in microfiber or
made entirely of fiberglass.
The only real rule is, accent chairs can look like anything and be made of
anything.
Polycarbonates, see through prisms, leather and hardwood swivel stools, and sleigh backs
with ottomans and going to compete with everyday club chairs for a place in
the living room as your favorite accent chair.
