New Haven Islamic Center Presents: Bull Hill Lane Plaza Project, Orange, Connecticut
In the name of Allah, the most graceful, and most merciful. All praise be upon our prophet
Mohamed, peace be upon him. Allah SWT says "The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained
by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give Zakah and
do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided."
Currently in West Haven, Connecticut in the U.S., Muslims congregate every day -- man,
women, and children -- not only to pray, but to identify with their religion and faith.
The Masjid is not only a place of worship but also an Islamic environment, which is
unique given where we live. The Muslims have been congregating in this Mosque for the past
25 years.
I came to this Mosque as an Imam since the year 2000. At that time, we did not have more
than 100 congregants. Today, in 2013, the numbers of congregants has reached 500 to
600 during the Jumuah prayer.
This increase in attendance forced us to create a second Jumuah prayer to accommodate everyone.
With the will of Allah and his blessings, we were able to purchase a new building after
a lot of hard work.
The new building will be one of the biggest Mosques in the state of Connecticut. The price
of the building is $1,900,000. We have paid one million of it that we have saved for the
past 13 years and all thanks go to Allah. At this point, we still owe $900,000.
I would like to inform our viewers that our Mosque has brought to Islam at least one person
per month of all genders and ages, and this is a blessing from Allah SWT and we ask Him
to give us more dignity and bounties.
Our current Mosque offers a Koran teaching program that teaches Koran three days per
week. Some of our students have memorized one Juze, some two, and some even more.
We also have an Islamic school that unfortunately cannot operate except for Sunday as its enrollment
has surpassed the 100 students that our space allows for. We were forced to deny new enrollments
because we do not have space for them, nor is the current space set up for proper classrooms.
Our Mosque needs your charity and your donations. We need people to deal with Allah SWAT in
a generous way as when you give charity to a human, you are giving it to Allah SWT.
There are programs that you can participate in and donate $5/day or $150/month, $3/day
or $90/month, $2/day or $60/month for a period of 18 months (until December 2014) as this
is when we have to have paid the whole amount.
By Allah, if you support this Islamic project to help the Islamic community, then you would
not have only done something for Islam in this community but for Islam in the whole
world because you will be strengthening the pillars of Islam everywhere.
Allah SWT rewards you tenfold for every deed when you do a good deed with another human,
let alone if you do it directly with Allah SWT. He can multiply it up to 700 times and Allah surely rewards
whomever he chooses.
"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain]
which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His
reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing." Imagine the reward that you
will obtain by giving your donation directly to Allah SWT.
The prophet PBUH says "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise
in Paradise." In a different narration, "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, though it be the
size of the ground nest of a sandgrouse, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." Allah
will then reward you if you spend as little as the price of a stone, or that of a window, or even a door
with as much as a house in paradise.
Therefore, you want a house in paradise, hurry to earn it by supporting your brothers and
sisters in this community. Oh Allah reimburse all those that spend for your sake. Allah
SWT says "Oh son of Adam spend for my sake and I will spend for you." and all praise
be upon our prophet Mohamed and upon his companions and followers.
