Today we have for you a round-up of the MaxTact MK Pro Upgrade Kit for the TGR-2 Mk1 Mod1.
This upgrade kit does exactly what MaxTact purports: Better efficiency of energy transfer,
increased accuracy, reduced mass, and higher overall velocity. The new kit sees a 2.0%
mass reduction over the old Mk1 upper receivers including hammer, bolt, pins, and ASA (air supply
adapter). As a result, energy transfer efficiency is improved 13.6% which yields an
~+30fps velocity boost. Very nice indeed.
Upon two complete successive tests, nine (9)
complete 18rd magazines can be fired from a Ninja 13/3000 HPA Tank (set to output
750-850 psi -- this is actually a one (1) magazine reduction in shot capacity, however with a considerable
qualitative accuracy realization of 2.5x over the Mk1, this is a most welcome trade off.
Ammo Types used for testing were Valken Graffiti, and Empire Marballizer with +500 rounds fired.
The new solid matte black finish of the MK Pro Upgrade Kit is wonderful, and a nice esthetic
improvement over the original shipped upper receivers. All around improvements in the
performance is absolutely appreciated however the $200.00 MSRP is on the high side considering
the package contents, yet you may still find it at the original limited-run price of only
$120.00 if you are savvy. Add-on recommendations for the MaxTact MK
Pro Upgrade Kit are a MaxTact 5-piece Mock Suppressor that allows for full adaptability
to a wide range of barrel types, a MILSIG Marksman Barrel (Front), NCStar Tri-Rail Riser,
an NCStar 1x30mm RGB Dot Cantilever Sight and a Ninja 13/3000 HPA Tank which is configured
for the correct output pressure you'll need right out of the box. This is a great kit
offered by MaxTact that acknowledges some short comings of the original TGR-2 Mk1 Mod1
and does make good on customer suggestions to improve performance and enhance enjoyment.
Magfed goodness, MaxTact.
