When we're out on the rivers, we deal with a lot of dangers,
and it's really important to have the right gear.
Footwear is extremely important.
A lot of the rocks that we walk on are really slippery.
And these boats weigh 40, 50 pounds, and if they're loaded
with all that gear, they could be 60, 70, 80 pounds.
Really the most hazardous part of the whole experience is
just getting from the vehicle or from the camp
spot down to the water.
Especially on those slippery terrains, and a lot of times
we're climbing around in water, and I can't see
underneath the water.
If I could see with my feet, it would make it really nice
walking around on the sharp rocks.
And walking on the water when you can't even see where your
footing is.
You're not looking down right below your foot.
But you're looking out, you're looking at what's coming up.
There's a lot of times where I'm trying to position myself
to see a rapid better, get a better angle on it, and to
figure out where I want to go, the route I want to take
through the rapid.
And you can't always look at your feet in order to do that.
SON-R Technology allows me to see with my feet.
