>>Erik: What do you enjoy most about your job?
>>Yoav: It puts me in to the midst of situations in one of the most interesting cities in the
world that otherwise I would not be in. I get to meet people I would not meet if I had
just an office job. I get to witness some very historic events first hand. I saw a speech
by Vice President Biden the other day. A lot of my job teaches me how this city functions.
It is fascinating to think about how to operate a city of 8 million people. You get to meet
the players, the people who move things around. I really have a much better sense of how the
city works and why things happen than somebody who does not pay attention to that every day.
>>Erik: You are passionate about NYC and you love living here and take full advantage of
this city in every way, shape and form in the fact that your job overlaps with that
gives you a chance to see how the city is built from ground up and how it functions
daily. That is a great combination.
>>Yoav: There is a lot of people in Manhattan who are for whatever reason are reluctant
to travel to the outer boroughs. I spent 3 years on Staten Island for Chrissakes, which
was not necessarily a benefit. I have stories in Queens. I probably went to the Bronx 20,
30 times this year to cover stories. Most traditional existences and jobs would not
let you experience the diversity in NYC that way.
