Red Sox vs. White Sox lineup: J.D.’s back and will have his revenge
The Red Sox (43-21) look to score some cot damn runs when they face the pesky White Sox (23-40) this afternoon at Fenway Park (4:05 p. , NESN, MLBN out-of-market) behind David Price (6-4, 408 ERA).
About today’s game: The up-and-down Price will face lefty Carlos Rodon (NR), the 25-year-old lefty who only seems like he’s been around the game for a decade and will be making his season debut. Price will have help from J.D.
Martinez, who returns to the lineup at DH, while Blake Swihart plays right field due to the continuing absence of Mookie Betts, with Jackie Bradley Jr.in center field and Andrew Benintendi, in left. Mitch Moreland gets the day off against the lefty, with Sam Travis taking his place at first. Miss Hanley yet?.
About last night’s game: The Red Sox refused to score against Dylan Covey, and the White Sox scored a single run against Chris Sale, which turned out to be enough in the 1-0 game. Read Matt’s no-doubt-infuriating recap here.
Forecast: Nice at gametime with a 23 percent chance of rain. Today’s listening: Episode 80 of The Red Seat podcast, featuring yours truly and Matt and Jake, is up now. A good tweet from yesterday about an old friend.
