The Revolution Security force in Salqeen received information about fields planted with cannabis
in the nearby village of Jakara in the Idlib province, located near the Syrian-Turkish border.
The security centre in Salqeen formed a force that includes members of the armed opposition battalions, and headed to the farm.
When we arrived, we were surprised to see a large number of cannabis plants in a field sheltered by a building.
God willing, whoever is behind this will be punished.
This is a very serious matter. People have taken advantage of the lack of security.
We, the Brigade of Salqeen's Hawks, and in cooperation with battalions in the countryside,
will bring these people before a just court, no matter who they are. God willing, they will be punished.
Some opposition militiamen started growing cannabis along the Syrian-Turkish border.
Civilians affiliated with members of the armed opposition have also been involved in growing cannabis, most of which is smuggled into Turkey.
There are militiamen who planted cannabis, but there are also civilians supported by militiamen who did the same.
We confiscated cannabis from some fields in villages such as Allani, Jakara and Abu Talha, and even in orchards in Salqeen.
We formed a unit to patrol the fields and prevent the planting of cannabis,
But unfortunately there are fields that have not been discovered till now.
The local community has complained about how cannabis use has recently spread.
We ended the smuggling of diesel, now there's cannabis cultivation.
What is strange about this is that those who grow cannabis are people carrying weapons in the name of the revolution.
We urge the military council and every decent rebel in this country to follow this issue until the end.
No should be given amnesty because the Syrian people have been ruined. We've had enough.
