Hi everybody,
we are proud to introduce you Deadlock,
a video game project started during the 7DFPS Challenge.
Deadlock is a FPS game created by a team of five people from various cities in France.
We are a bunch of… 'friends'
that have been working within the industry on games you may have heard of,
and now we are grouping up to start our own project,
with the objective of creating a game the way we want it to be done.
So here are the teammates: - Fabien Di Pardo...
WHO CARES?… Let’s get to the point.
What is Deadlock all about?
We could say Deadlock is a puzzle-platformer-FPS…
quite fuzzy, isn't it?
The main idea of the game is that, for some reason we’ll discuss later,
you have to climb up this gigantic Tower
without being kicked down by its security system.
On your way to the top, you will eventually recover your lost memories,
but to do so, you will have to overcome lots of challenges, like:
Jumping on small platforms hanging over the empty space.
Taking jumpers and learning how to control your trajectories while in the air.
Activating or deactivating world elements using your switch gun, in order to solve puzzles.
Avoiding or stunning enemies who will try to push you away into the void,
and get a sufficient time frame to handle a tricky passage.
Oh, and I almost forgot. You will have to do all of this as fast as possible,
of course if you don’t want to be disintegrated by the Tower Cleaning System…
So, you still think you can make it to the top? [Laughter]
Honestly, we were quite satisfied with the first version we released for the 7DFPS Challenge,
especially after only five days of work.
But now, we want to bring Deadlock to a whole new level: we want it to be a “real” game,
delivering the full experience we had in mind at the very beginning of the project, before we ran out of time.
[Whisper] And of money.
So this is where YOU play your part !
We need your support to develop Deadlock
and make it harder, better, stronger … funnier.
“Funnier”, seriously guys, who wrote that?
So we came up with 3 development steps,
but let our "slave designer" tell you more about them...
Come on "slave designer", wake up!
So it’s all in your hands now!
Hi everybody, I'm Adrian
and I'm gonna present you the 3 developments steps we planned for Deadlock.
Step 1, 'Polishing the existing':
it means we're gonna take the current version of the game and spend 3 months tracking bugs,
reshaping the level and adding new stuff, like new puzzles or enemies.
that's why we are asking for 3500 euros to buy 2 Unity3D software licenses.
But we could do so much more!
By raising 32000 euros, we could reach Step 2,
'creating a full solo game' with way more content, a special 'Speed Run mode'
and a great background story allowing players to dive deeper into Deadlock's universe.
And finally there is step 3, which is 'adding multiplayer'.
Raising 66000 euros would allow us to work as long as necessary to develop multiplayer modes
with dedicated maps where you and your friends would be battling or cooperating to reach the end of a level,
to take control of an area or to fight hordes of enemies:
sounds cool, doesn't it?
As you may have noticed, there are huge gaps between each step:
but don't worry!
If we manage to reach one step but not the next one, we will propose 'Upgrade packs' to our premium supporters:
it means that every extra 5000 euros raised,
we will ask our best supporters to choose between several packs of additional content they want to be added to the game
like new weapons, enemies or gameplay features
so they can shape the game to fit their expectations!
Please checkout the Deadlock trailer and demo available on our website.
And if you enjoy what we’ve done in such a short time, just imagine what can be achieved in three months.
Well, and if you don't like it, I WILL EAT YOUR SOUL!
I mean, please send us feedback. It will greatly help improve the game!
Now we would like to thank you for watching this video,
and we really hope you will enjoy playing Deadlock as much as we enjoyed making it.
Seriously. So much fun.
Stay tuned for new releases!
