I am the founder of Graphisoft which I led for 25 years.
This was the first Hungarian IT company to achieve worldwide success.
Usually, we were able to use obstacles to our advantage,
stunning people by developing a market leading software
without the appropriate technological tools.
This made our work much harder,
yet it allowed us to develop software
that could be easily adapted to diverse national markets.
This is why we became the first among companies
that developed great software on computers with limited capabilities.
Another important influence was
a strong relationship with Apple.
Namely Steve Jobs, who taught us corporate culture,
innovation, and a passion for perfection for creating outstanding products
for the pure joy of it, regardless of business aspects.
Today, I devote my time to teaching.
I try to pass on everything I learnt with Graphisoft to the next generation.
We created the Aquincum Institute of Technology
with the aim of bridging the gap between public education and the business sector.
Our students come from Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.
Hungarian students can attend without tuition fees, of course.
I had no interest in becoming an entrepreneur,
I wanted to be an acclaimed physicist and win the Nobel Prize.
My three most inspiring professors at ELTE were
Professor György Marx, Frigyes Károlyházy and László Pál.
I am very fortunate to have studied as a physicist,
because I mastered the scientific approach,
how to build deductions
based on empirical data into unified systems.
This approach benefitted me in business management,
and allowed me to become a successful entrepreneur.
Ambition. To prove to the world I am better than others at what I do.
Impatience. And a certain degree of benevolence...?
It makes me happy to discover talent
and help fulfill its potential -- better than others would.
I studied at ELTE, of course!
Where else could I have studied?
ELTE is worth it.
ELTE and its talents were sponsored by OTP.
