Prosecutors are demanding four years in prison for former head of the Seoul Metropolitan
Police Agency Kim Yong-pan, for obstructing a police investigation into allegations that
the nation's intelligence agency meddled in last year's presidential election.
At the Seoul Central District Court on Thursday, prosecutors requested two years on charges
of violating election law... and an additional two years for abusing his authority.
Kim was indicted in June for ordering his subordinates to reduce the scale of the special
parliamentary probe into the NIS scandal. He'll be sentenced on February 6th.
