this is called the blade squeeze, and what we want to accomplish, is to get some of these
back muscles that are a lot of times are shut off, or a little bit lazy with our posture
now a days, and its a very simple exercise, good one to start with, nice and safe, and
what we are going to start with is just squeezing your shoulder back and down, almost like you
are trying to get your shoulder blades in your back pocket, so we just want you to squeeze
in and down. What a lot of times will happen, as you try to come back, people will tend
to use their upper shoulders and kind of arch back like that, we don't want to use these
muscles, so we want it to be almost lke a relaxing postural exercise with those shoulder
blades come down and back and we want to feel it on the bottom of the shoulder blades you
want to feel a little squeeze there. So from the side, we want to make sure everything
is in a nice straight line, so as he squeezes his shoulders back, we want to keep his arms
relaxed, just use those shoulder muscles and make sure his head stays in a nice line. A
lot of times as peole squeeze back here, their head will tend to drift forward and that puts
a lot of strain on their neck. So we want to just work on posture, keep everything nice
and straight and you are good to go.
