This is the behavior
between the believers how to socialize,
do not, when you had the meal,
then disperse and do not socialize
and familiarize for any hadees/even/narration.
(Arabic)
so the believers are asked,
men believers are asked,
asked not to ask from the prophets
wives any hadees./event/narration.
(Arabic)
do not socialize, familiarize
for any hadees/event/narration.
Surely that is hurtful to the prophet
(Arabic)
surely that is hurtful to the prophet.
And heís ashamed from you -
that you are asking or familiarizing
to the wives of the prophet.
And Allah is not ashamed from the truth.
(Arabic)
Further it says
(Arabic)
And when you ask them for any commodity,
So ask them from behind a hijab/veil.
(Arabic)
When you ask the wives,
prophetsí wives any matan, any commodity,
any thing, you ask them behind a viel/hijab.
Whose hijab is this,
womenís haijab or your hijab?
Come on. Is it the headgear of a woman?
That if you want to ask the woman
anything you ask her to get a headgear,
then I ask.
Because in the world the headgear
that is referred to is hijab.
Hijab is not basically a headgear.
Hijab means a veil/. A barrier
that you may ask behind a veil.
So Allah is asking you when
you ask them for any commodity,
so ask from behind a hijab,
that is purer for your hearts and purer for them.
That is the basic reason
because this isÖagain I would say the same hijab
has occurred with the same is
(Arabic)
that ask these women behind a hijab/veil.
When you want to ask any commodity
or you want to ask
(Arabic)
when you ask any commodity,
when you ask anything, you want to ask
some material thing or something -
I wan this or I want this
or you want to talk to them -
remember, you ask them but you must
have a hijab/ a veil behind
This is a hijab of a men.
That they should have that veil
and then they should talk.
So that is purer for them
and it is pures for men also.
Purer for women also and purer for men also.
This is the, they should have a hijab,
men. We are talking now,
reading now the hijab or veil of men.
They should have the hijab while speaking to women.
When you ask them for any commodities
so ask them behind a hijab./veil.
That is purer for your hearts - for their hearts.
And it is not for you to hurt the messenger
and after him ever marry his pairs/wives.
Surely that would be a great offence
in the nearness of Allah.
Now in this whole verse there were
two points you have to make and that is that,
whenever we mingle each other,
or invited each other houses,
we should go at the right time,
have the dinner or the lunch,
whatever the breakfast or for
what youíre invited and then
you can sit down and discuss intellectually
maybe Quraíanic ayat or something important
but not familiarizing or socializing
or having intimate, intimate talks,
familiarizing talks, that is forbidden,
thatís the hijab.
And if you want to talk to each otherís,
I want to speak to your wife
and you want to speak to wife,
you want to have relationship,
any you want to have some commodity, mattaan,
you want Öso you must speak to them behind a veil,
a hijab. That is the important,
that is the education that men should speak
to the women or some others peoples wives
behind a veil. This is theÖwith the prophet
of course I understand, everybody understands,
but what is the education?
That whenever we speak to each otherís wives
we should not have friendly talks
to each otherís wifes or daughters or sisters.
We should speak to them behind a veil/hijab
and that is a hijab for men.
A veil of a men.
24 Surah An Noor 24: 27
(Arabic)
O you who believe
you do not enter the houses other than
your houses until you are familiar of them.
And salute over its family,
that is better for you so
that you will remember.
Meaning if you are visiting somebodyís houses
you should only enter your own house,
do not enter somebody else house -
until you know that house to whom it belongs.
Now this, look it is very simple,
this is basically an order from Allah
for men that you do not enter
into somebodyís else house-
until you are familiar with the house.
And when you enter then salaam o aleikum,
give salaam to the family.
You know some people, I know some people,
they go from one room to another room,
their own house.
Thereís nobody in the house,
they say salaam o aleikum
They go from this room to another room,
they say salam o aliekum.
To whom you areÖit is referred in this ayah
that you have to give salam to the ahl,
to the familyof the house.
If somebodyís saitting in the house,
you enter the house, you say salaam aleikum -
whether heís elder or younger to you.
Thatís beside the point.
But not like going from one room to another room,
saying salam aleikumÖGoing
from room to another room,
saying salam aleikum.
Then again going another room, salam aleikum.
This, thisÖAllah says when you enter the room
you say salam aleikum.
Bhai it is Allahs is aking you to say
salam aleikumto the family of the house.
I am not lying to you. It has become a practice.
In their own house so many time, number of times,
they go here and there they say
salam aleikum Salam aleikum.
So now again another ayah.
This now related again to men relative to the house.
Surah An Noor 24: 28
(Arabic)
So if you do not find any one in it -
if you go into somebodyís house
and you donít find anyone in the house,
do not enter it until permission is given
to you and if you are told to return, so return.
That is more justifiable for you,
Allah knows with what you do.
Meaning if I visit somebodyís -
meaning my friendís - house
and I know his husband is not present in the house,
so I went there and I say I want to come there
talk to you something and he say,
go away, so go away, donít enter in the house.
These are very simple laws, believe me. .
They say come inside, ajao,
itís not like that.
So Allah says when they say return,
return. That is more justifiable for you.
Allah knows with what you do. He knows.
All the people are going to the office,
people are going to somebodyís house.,
salam aleikum. This is the hijab,
you must understand how the hijab is going on.
These are the small things
but we donítÖwe listen to an ayah,
Allah is asking you do not enter
somebody else house with the house you donít know
and if even if you know the house
you do not enter the house
until permission is granted to you..
Like you go to somebodyís house you knock the door.
May I come in?
Have you heard this - may I come in?
Knock the door.
Where did you get the idea?
It is in Quraían, the Quraían telling you,
that is the whole world is practicing,
they are practicing. You cannot -
you have to ask the permission of the person
who lives in the house where you enter,
not like this you enter.
Because maybe the family members
may sitting in odd position.
So when you enter the house, enter,
as the permission to enter and if he say no,
return, then go away.
Why not asking me that I should come in your house?
People are arguing - you come to my house,
IÖthe bell ringsÖand somebody, this man comes.
He comes, somebody comes,
I donít want to meet him at that moment
so I tell my child, go and tell him I am not there.
Why are you lying? Say, how are you,
as salam aleikum, why are you come?
I want to talk. Go away. Why are you lying?
Talk to him, I am busy I cannot talk to you,
I cannot Öexcuse meÖI wantÖno,
I donítÖwhy I donít ÖgoÖaway.
So that is why in the world people phone
before and they make an appointments -
that we are coming at such a time,
are you available, are you busy or not,
that is the right procedure,
thatís Quraían is teaching you.
Look but what we do if somebodyÖ
I am in the busy of something
and doing some importantÖphone
comesÖmyÖsomebody else picks the phoneÖ
and now somebody asking hello,
what Öwhy we are doing all this?
For what? For whom? Speak to him.
Yes, I am thisÖMohammed Sheikh speaking,
yesÖ.what do you want?
I want to timeÖI am busy
I cannot talk to you,
salam aleikum - khatam. Because Allah says
return,m return. Why you get annoyed?
We lie in small petty matters
We should not. Tell him to return,
then he must go away and if he gets annoyedÖ
show him this ayat., ke I asked you to go,
return, why did you not return?
This is an education.
(Arabic)
There is no fault on you that you enter
unhibited (uninhabioted) houses,
hotels or etc. in it is enjoyment for you..
Allah knows what you expose or what you hide.
But there are certain houses,
like hotelsÖthey donít belong to human,
one person, so when we are travelling
we can go visit that unhibited house,
we can stay there. Allah is giving permission
to stay in a hotel. Otherwise,
otherwise you canít stay in any hotel there
I no house, somebody wasÖI am going to some
country and I want to stay some place and
this ayat is telling you can stay. You know,
these small little things are mentioned
the Quraían - that even Heís telling you
when to enter the house, not to enter the house,
and if there is no hotel you can also stay
in a hotel also and those houses also.
So this is a hijab mentioned here.
Now Surah 24: 58
Arabic
O you who believe,
those whom your right hand possess,
right possesses and those amongst you
who have not reach puberty ask permission
from you three times before fajr/dawn prayer
and in the afternoon when you take off
your garments/clothes and after the isha/night prayer
three times of pudendum/genitals for you.
Apart from these timings there is no fault
on you or on them that
you move about to one another.
Likewise Allah clarifies ayahs/signs for you.
And Allah is Knowing, Wise.
In this ayat,
Allah is telling to the beleivers
if you are living in a house
and children are there so they should ask
permission from you while that premises
where you are And this I before the faj prayer
and in the afternoon, that is between
zhor and asr and - itís not mentioned zohr
asr but Iím telling you -
in the afternoon and then
there is after isha prayers.
These are the 3 timings of your pudendum
or relationship for sex,
for husband and wife,
so you take off your clothes.
Now in this ayah you will note the Arabic word
(Arabic)
Beginning I told you
(Arabic)
clothes, you take off your clothes.
All the time I was reading this ayat
there was not anywhere the word
(Arabic)
came or came. Here the clothes came.
So there is a time when you can take off
your clothes for a specific reason.
You want to have if youíre a married men
and woman and husband and wife relationship
you want to have husband
and wife relationship sex
surely then you can have this,
these are the timings mentioned to you
for that particular time.
This is time is also mentioned
for the men and women,
not that you just take off your clothes for nothing.
You may take off your clothes for this
particular act or aspect if
youíre a married men and women.
So now, these are the timings mentioned the Quraían,
these are also like prayer timings
there are these timing is also
written for to take off your clothes.
That means all the time men
and women are wearing clothes,
that means they are already covered.
Taking off your clothes at particular time
that is you are covered all the time.
So you are almost all the time in hijba, hijab.
You are hiding your private parts
for these three timings if you intend to have
that rewlationship between husband and wife.
So now the question is you must understand
what we are reading. That is why the word
(Arabic )
came here - clothes.
In the beginning I read to you first
(Arabic)
means clothes
(Arabic)
means clothes. And libas means to wear the clothes.
So the permission is only for children,
they should ask permission and even
the male servants is in the house
(Arabic)
the right hand, they are also in the house working,
they will also have to ask permission,
that means they are in the houses,
working. Women are also there.
Yusuf (pbuh) was the adopted son by a lady.
They can work inside by a Öion the house.
What I am saying is in the premises of women,
the women are, men and women are there,
the children are there, even the right hand possesses
are there, so they should ask permission,
specific timings are mentioned.
Other than these timings they can move about
apart from these timings there is no fault
on you or on them they move about one other,
meaning other than timing they can move about
without asking permission they can come
where your premises are because you are dressed up
meaning you are notÖmeaning
you are wearing your clothes.
So now this was the ayahs that I want to discuss.
I just want to give 2-3 examples from the Quríanic ayahs,
that what we have read there are 2-3 examples
in the context of the ayat that I read,
that the hijab was the veil thatis mentioned
the Quraían with men and women and
how it relates to the ayahs
that are mentioned the Quraían.
Surah Maryam 19: 27-28 Hazrat Maryam,
I told you, she took the
hijab apart from her family members -
in the beginning.
It is related to the first ayah in the ayahs.
she was having the child carrying the child,
Essa (pbuh) with her, coming back to herÖ
she went to eastern place and she was coming back
so Allah says
(Arabic)
Then she Mary/Maryam came with it,
carrying Essa/Jesus to her people.
They said, without doubt you have
come with an invented thing.
How come about you are carrying this where?
Now the question is that Mary/Maryam,
Allah has mentioned the hijab with her,
we have already read that.
She was in that perfect hijab that
we are discussing right now and
she was coming with the child Jesus with him,
with herÖAnd they questioned Maryam.
How can the recognize Maryam if
their face is not identified?
You understand what I am saying?
They recognize Maryam because of the face.
But she was in hijab.
And the people qaum in Arabic
(Arabic)
then she came, Maryam came,
carrying Essa/Jesus to her people.
Qaum means people, so many men and women.
They said
(Arabic)
They said without doubt you have come with an
invented thing.
That means all men
and women recognize Mary/Maryam.
And Mary/Maryam was having that hijab with her.
Further it says
(Arabic)
sheís referred as the - sister of Haroun
(Arabic text)
O sister of Haroun ,
your father was no a wicked man
and nor your mother unchaste.
So Maryamís mother was also,
she prayed to God, you know,
in this Quraíanic ayahsÖShe was pregnant with Maryam.
She was very honorable woman.
And we know her Imran was the husband of that woman,
the Imranís wife and this Maryam was born.
An now the people also recognize that sheís the
sister of Haroun and she recognize the father
also and said the father was no a wicked man
and your mother also you recognize, she recognize,
they recognizeÖThe prople recognize Ö
How could they recognize if the face was covered?
My question to the people covering their faces,
how can they recognize if the face was covered totally?
And she is the most honorable woman in the whole world.
That is what Quraían says. Not me saying it.
And sheís the only woman that hijab occurred with her.
so that means she was in the proper
100 % hijab/veil and the men recognize,
her mother was recognize and she was recognize
by the Haorun sister. An father was also recognize,
she was recognize by father,
And that her mother was also recognized.
She also a woman and a believing woman, Imranís wife.
So this is one of the examples Iím referring to.
That the face was clear and that face is for
recognition You cannot cover your face. Similarly,
if you note,
these are the examples I am reading.
Al Qasas: 28: 22-23
(Arabic)
And when he Moosa turned his face toward Madiya,
he said soon my Lord will guide me to an even way. .
That is, Moosa (pbuh) is saying this.
And when he came to the watering place of Madiayn,
he found a group of people over it
who were watering and part from them
he found two women holding back their flocks.
He said ëwhat is the matter with you?í
They said we do not water our flock
until the shepherds drive off.
And our father is very old.
That means this ayat you note that Moosa (pbuhís)
face was clear.
Three four people working some work
and she saw two women also working the same work
what the men was working. And their faces were clear,
he walked to them and behind a veil He asked,
what is the matter, why are you workingÖout,
why are you working?
Because normally men has to work.
Women should remain the house,
he asked Moosa (pbuh) asked these women,
why are you working?
They ask our father is old
thatís why we are working so in his
what I am referring to isÖ
that the womanís face is clear,
working outside, these are just examples.
Further you look in the ayat
Surah Nisa 4: 3
(Arabic)
And if you are fearful that you cannot
do justice in the orphans,
marry women from orphans who seem good to you ,
twos and threes and fours.
Then if you are fearful
that you cannot be equitable,
equalize and marry one
that your right hand possesses,
that will be lowlier if you do not support.
Now this ayat is relating to men
in relation to getting married.
So Allah is telling the men,
if you want be fearful about doing
justice among the women,
you marry the orphan women who seem good to you.
If a woman is totally covered,
can any man find any goodness?
How can you find this woman good to you?
Until and unless you see the face?
The exposed part I have already discuss.
So Allah is telling the men and we,
we m, we, we all parts of the world it is
the men who selects a woman for marriage. .
We all know this.
How will you select a woman
when you canít see anything of her?
So Allah is telling us that
you can marry two and three and four
who seem good to you,
meaning you can see them.
And what you can see? The exposed parts.
Weíve already discussed those exposed parts.
Now there is one more ayat
with Prophet (pbuh)
in Ahzab 33: 52. In the context Allah,
the ayat that I am reading now,
in that, the context of this ayat,
Allah has permitted Mohammed Rasoolallah
for so many cousins and relations that you can get.
Married And after that he says
(Arabic)
After that, after what,
meaning all the relations Allah has discussed
to whom you should marry ,
women are not lawful for you
and you do not take other wives
in exchange of them though their
beauty amazes you
(Arabic)
how can you, Mohammed Rasoolallah,
be amazed by other womenís beauty
they are completely covered?
Can you be amazed by a complete black gown totally,
completely covered?
You have to see the husn,
you have to see the face, the exposed parts.
You have to take a decision on that.
So Allah says in exchange though their beauty
amazes you except what you right hand possesses
and Allah is watchful over all things.
This was the last verse of my lecture today.
I just want to summarize that what we have ,
there is a points section you note,
points that are drawn from the Hijb/Veil lecture,
what is the hijab of a woman,
first I discussed that.
First they should lower themselves from their insights,
preserve their gap/private parts,
do not show their zeenat/adornment
physically and psychologically except
what is obvious from it.
And the obvious is the head that represents the intelligence,
the face that represents the identification,
hands to the elbow represent the work,
feet to the ankles represent the whereabouts,
do not show their zeenat/adornment
psychologically feelings of love and passion
to anyone except to one of the relations.
They should not strike with their feet
in front of anyone so that the ***
feeling are known, body parts,
body parts that Öexcept head, face,
hands to the elbow - apart from these body parts,
hidden, hidden,. Strike with Ö
they should not strike with their coverings Ö
they should strike with their
coverings over their pockets not to unveil
the secrets of the family and theÖabout themselves.
They should not subjugate with the saying,
they should speak a saying that is recognition.
They should keep a link in the houses
and do not decorate as they decorate in ignorance.
Should make a base from their gowns on them.
Now points with the men are - t
hey should lower themselves from their insights,
preserve their gaps/private parts
Al Ahzab 33: 53,
do not enter the house of the prophet
except permission is given to you,
do not socialize/familiarize
with the wives of the prophets,
asking hadees/event/narrations and when you
ask women for any commodity,
ask them from behind a hijab/veil
The whole purpose of this hijab
that Allah has mentioned the ayahs I read,
I will only once the ayah that
I first read to you and if you look at the first page
that I read to you
Surah Shura 42: 51
(Arabic)
And it is not for any human being
that Allah should speak to him except by
inspiration or from behind a hijab/veil
or He sends a messenger that He inspires
with his permission what He wills.
In this ayah Allah has already mentioned
that Allah speaks to any man,
any basher and the first aspect is,
first wahi/inspiration, second is behind a veil.
So we have discuss, all the ayahs of women and men
I have discuss to have that hijab is a
psychological/physical barrier between each other
so that Allah should speak to us.
That is the whole purpose of hijab.
The whole purpose of hijab/.
the veil is that we must have a
psychological barrier from other peopleís ideas
and philosophies so that Allah may speaks to us.
men, similar for a woman.
And the example of the best of examples
of hijab is given by woman and that is Hazrat Maryam.
She took the hijab in an eastern place?
She took that hijab.
That is why Allah sent a messenger to her rooh
and the essence/the spirit and the angels
that Allah has chosen her and the angel
said Allah has chosen her and purified her
and chosen her above the women of all world,
so sheís the example .
An in that context you must understand
that all the ayats I have read,
why we are doing this hijab the purpose is
that Allah should speak to us -
meaning we should understand the Quranic ayats,
the essence of it, so that
we can follow in a better manner.
