Long route means 161,2 km, only for real fighters,
having practice three times a week at least can handle it, otherwise you cannot "survive".
I would suggest the toughest route just to medium-high level amateur riders.
Once the opening ascent is over, anyone can relax a bit
due to the reduced number of riders all around.
You'll likely be part of a 70-80 units bunch, either in the first and second peloton
much different from the mass situation at the start, with no more concerns to be overwhelmed by faster contenders...
Then, the time of Colle Gallo and Selvino comes, followed by Val Taleggio and Coste
Valle Imagna final peak. I remember this place, at the time I was a little boy
and I came in as runner-up in the cadets category. I remember a very demanding section in the first part, still unpaved at the time
and took second behind a local guy, so I have another nice memory.
No doubt that Val Taleggio and Costa Valle Imagna are both challenging climbs,
really exciting to perform indeed, I believe.
