The starting point for our terrace was
the renovation of our venue 3 years ago.
We made our choice for
terrace furniture very quickly.
We wanted an international feel for The IJsbreker and
we wanted to create a French terrace with a feeling of being in a park.
In addition to that, our local government had a plan
to make a park with hiking paths
and the terraces had to have a French international feel.
We have chosen our furniture with this in mind.
The underground for our terrace has not been decided yet
We are still talking with local government about
the possibilities and still working on it.
For a city terrace it is important to
maintain a good relationship with your neighbours,
this is why we have decided to leave our furniture outside
at night, secured with locks and cables.
This way we avoid any noise made when stacking them.
Meanwhile our terrace is doing well, it is very popular.
Even when the weather is not as good, it is always crowded.
People really want to sit outside
and we wonder
how much bigger we could make the terrace
and how busy it could become?
